next ball in my arsenal
« on: April 26, 2018, 08:52:07 AM »
Hi,

I am having a hard time choosing my next ball. Now i only have two options, two great balls in my opinion, but not always suited. Its a Track kinetic ruby and a radical katana. The Katana i can use medium to drier lanes and has this hard snap when it sees friction. The Kinetic ruby is great on fresh houseshots, needs oil in the front, but does not always comes back. Its kinda weird, it needs oil, to have decent pincarry, but not too much or its hard to get it back in pocket. Not enough revs i guess. I can change it a bit in my advantage by changing the grit, but sometimes it just isn't enough.
So i want a 3th option for more oily lanes.

I heard some statements and don't know if they are correct:
1) Lower rev players schould get a ball with low rg symmetric core, because its easier to rev up.
2) Solids are the best option on oily lanes
3) higher differential is better, because more flare
If i combine these statements i come out with a Brunswick Magnitude 055 or a phaze 2 from storm. Would this be a good option? Other suggestions i could check out?

Extra info:
Lefthander / 280RPM/ 15mph(24kph) / balls are drilled pin up

Thanks in advance

For an oily house shot I can highly recommend the Radical Tremendous, which is a remake of the Guru with a tweaked coverstock. Good bang for the buck. The diff is in the 40's not 50's, but the ball reaction is great on an oily house shot for me, as I can stay with it for all three games.

I like my Phaze 2, but that could mean very little at all for your personal game and the conditions you're truly bowling on. If you have a reputable PSO in the area, hit them up. If there are folks with a similar style bowling with you, check out what works for them as well.

To explicitly fit the mold you detailed, take a look at the Roto Grip Idol also.

Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour
