Post by: loopy on July 13, 2008, 05:38:56 AM
Been wondering about this . What is the main purpose and benefit of doing this ? Hope someone can shred some light on this.

Thanks .

it provides suction...makes the thumb hole a bit tighter, or at least feel that way.

Tackiness in thumb hole. Gives a bit more ability to hang on.....I prefer Magic Carpet http://www.bowl4fun.com/ and the use of Switch Grip.

I've also known people who couldn't tell you WHY they do it, but they started doing it when they learned how to throw fingertip and it became part of the pre-shot routine...for some people, anything that disrupts the routine is hazardous to their game, and that includes removing an unnecessary step.

I don't like blowing air into the thumb hole I never deliver the ball cleanly when I do that. However I do have this habit of blowing on the palm of my hand before I put my fingers in the ball.
