How tight should your thumb hole be?
-
i think everyone is different. there is no one "size" fits all.
for me i cant have mine too tight as my skin tends to grab. yet there are others out there that have more
moist skin and have a harder time holding on.
some can seem to get out of just about anything. any pitch and any thumbhole. and then theres me. i need everything to be custom fit or ill drop or hang in the ball.
another words, try out what works best for you.

Second that. It is a VERY individual thing, depends on thumb pitches, bevel, the thumb''s "construction", skin, etc.
Thumb holes are, by tendency, drilled too large - to accept some swelling and tape for fine tuning. Best bet would IMO be to dedicate a training session to thumb experiments, playing both with bevel if this is a problem, and placing tape in both front and back of the thumb hole. If you are in doubt, ask and experienced player or at your pro shop where to place the tape, because this already can change a lot and make the thumb hole more or less effective! From my experience, even minor changes can have some recognizable effect.
You should aim for a "good" grip where you do not have to cling to the ball in the swing, keeping the thumb pretty straight while holding the ball.
