everybody when they give their review note top weight. What does this do and how does this effect the ball reaction and why is this important?

Ok so you want the most top weight or 3oz for the most skid snap on the ball.
Got it, never even looked at that when i bought my tripple x but he did put a hole in the side so i can assume that i have 3oz of top weight right? Pin is above ring finger.

fastlane -- Balance holes are seldom if ever used to bring top weight into legal specs.  Your balance hole was probably used to bring the side weight into legal specs.  That does not mean you have 3 oz of top weight or even that the ball started out with 3 oz of top weight.  The box that the ball came in would have the undrilled top weight on the label.  Your pro shop must have weighed the ball after it was drilled, ask them what the final weights were.  --  JohnP
