Hi All,

I'm proud to present to you The Roto-Grip Grand Illusion Video.

http://www.videoballreviews.com/grandillusion.html

My Take on the Ball:

Your prayers have been answered people...ok be honest, how many times have you tried throwing your cell on a house shot and it is just way too much ball...but you throw it anyway cause its just fun to cover that many boards?

Go ahead, raise your hands, dont be scared

Well now you can have the perfect compliment to the cell...the Grand Illusion is an awesome piece. Gives you the same continuation and forgiveness of the Cell, but it retains energy so much better for a big backend move. Its like roto-grip took the best parts of the cell and the best parts of the illusion and smacked them together into this ball...the funny part is, i think the ball actually compliments the Dimension a even better as far as ball motion goes. The Grand Illusion gives me the same angular look in the backend as the Dimension, but about 5-6 boards right.

I have yet to find any negatives with this ball, but when i do ill let you know...i have used on on everything from cheetah to shark, with success...

GREAT follow up to the Cell...

I like the deliberate response to friction the GI shows, very nice turn.

How does the GI compare/contrast to the Pluto?

I know this isn't a RG ball, but how does the GI compare/contrast to the Break Pearl?

In the video, three to five boards stronger than the original Illusion may equate to an equivalent of the Pluto, FOR ME.  The same can be said about my Break Pearl, it fits nicely in between both the Pluto and Illusion.

So, even though I am dying to purchase one I'll need to see definite and obvious differences between these two.

While the pluto is a very strong ball for the money, with its low diff core and strong cover, i find it much better for playing straighter angles on more volume.  The Pluto (for me) is not good when i have to move in and start crossing boards...it just doesnt have the "umph" in the back to kick the corners and sometimes even make it back to the pocket...i have seen the same for most guys who have less hand than myself...

Now for the guys who really get on the ball, they LOVE the pluto, because it lets them get in and control the breakpoint downlane, but they have the hand to get the ball to round the corner.  The grand illusion is going to be more user friendly, and to me is actually stronger OOB than the pluto (and thats polished vrs 2000 abralon on the pluto)

The Grand illusion really shocked me at how strong and how much oil it can handle OOB, they arent kidding when they say this cover is closer to the cell cover than the illusion cover

Also compared to the Break Pearl, it is stronger overall, but the break pearl has the potential to be stronger downlane depending on lane conditions.
