How to convert Sony mini dvd files to Mpeg

I am trying to figure out how to convert my files from a Sony minidvd camcorder to video I can upload to youtube
Any help would be appreciated

You will need a basic software. Windows comes with the Movie Maker, which VERY simple but allows you to record the films from your camera onto your PC (probably also directly from the minidvd if you insert it in a PC drive) and then export it as a .wmv that can be uploaded to web platforms like youtube and the like. For a more professional approach, check respective software packages, but for first steps and the occasional "film for fun", the Movie Maker will be enough.

The easiest way is to use PyTube.
