Any thoughts on this camera?
« on: April 04, 2008, 05:01:52 AM »
eBay Price...

I'm looking for something to shoot short clips of bowling.

Any recommendations? Around $600?

Any comments, ideas?
TIA....

It's gotta be a P.O.S. for that price. You won't be happy. You can get a decent camera for much cheaper. SONY products are always good.

looks like a cheap piece of crap to me. I've never seen a camera for 50 bucks or whatever they are wanting and it be any good what so ever. The quality is probably going to be crappy but if your just using it for bowling clips i guess it wouldn't really matter but there may come a time where you want to use it for something else and then its going to suck..lol

Thanks....Hogs, & NicholasE

I'm really curious...what kind of lenses does it have?
It probably does suck.

I keep getting ebay emails on these auctions...Time to unsubscribe?

I think the camera would last about a month...maybe not?

Wow, that camera is awful.  Video resolution is very low at 320 x 240, and at only 15fps  (30fps is what you really want)  Not to mention no optical zoom capability.  For comparison, my Canon Powershot S2IS digital still camera (which you can find used for $150 - $200 depending on condition) has a video function with twice the resolution and twice the framerate.  On a camera not even meant to be a video camera for the most part.

If I were you, I would just fork out the money for a nice one from Best Buy or somewhere like that. I was in the search as well and went with a samsung or one of those big name cameras that works really well. I think it was right around $400 for it but its something that I can enjoy. In the long run I will be more happy with it then I would be with something cheap.
