Where are these 5pin/candlepin bowling alleys located? I have never see one in my life, and have just learned they are even a sport.
Are they not popular now? or are they more popular in other countries other then US?
-
i believe that there up further north but not 100% sure

I believe 5-pin is very popular in Canada, the pins have rubber inserts on the belly of the pin, creating the amazing pin action.
-
yeah theres lots up in Canada
theres more 5 pin bowlers than 10pin in my city

I went to Windsor to play 5 pin when I was a Senior in high school. Loads of fun, and super hard. I had my youth league the next morning too...talk about a weird feeling holding the 10 pin sized rock lol.

From my experience, I believe its a lot harder playing 5 pins bowling. It tends to leave many splits and really hard to pickup. I never knew Canada was all over it, I might go check out some on my next trip to Canada. Nice video though.

Yea the splits are hard to pick up, but since you get 3 shots per frame...the splits become more manageable. BTW, at the house I bowled at....has been there for many many years..only one perfect game ever...which was a score of 450
