Creeped by this on youtube. The flashy lefty who is a PBA member rolled an 899 a month or two back with a Storm T Road Pearl. Here's footage of the last few frames. I think the cameraman was more nervous than GG3.

Feel the excitement? LOL

No kidding about the cameraman, seemed like he was gonna drop the camera from shaking so much! Cool video, didn't even know about his series.

Too bad we couldn't see that last two shots since the cameraman was jerking around so much. If you're going to bother to record it, at least aim the camera at the bowler or lanes.

It's only been about 6 or 7 weeks. If that. Maybe a month ago.

It says Century Lanes at New Carlisle, OH 2/21/07 on the video.

I had read somewhere that this series may not be approved. I didn't find out what circumstances there were that would have USBC need to review it, but thats why it isn't on his honor scores listings yet.

A couple of points....
A. If I were the guy bowling, the guy holding the camera would have received a severe ass-whooping from me before I threw the last ball. Learn to shut your damn mouth half wit.
B. I think this guy is the reason for the "USBC Dress Code" thread a week or so ago.
C. Looks like a fake video to me. I mean seriosly, if someone was throwing the 36th ball shooting for 900, I would expect more than just 2 people standing in the back watching.
-
Yea, it doesn't even look like a league setting. There were people still bowling 3 lanes away while this guy is up in the 9th frame going for a 900 series. Any league would have come to a stand still at that point.
-
Even when I see people shooting for just a single 300, there are 20 people hovering around the back of the pit. If a 900 were about to be shot, I would expect half the league, plus house management to be clamoring for a good view. I stand by my "It's a fake" viewpoint.
I think Brunsnick's 900 video looks alot more realistic.

What if they were the last team to finish? I recall the original story claiming that he was asked to sub on this night and that's when it happened.

Hmmm seems kinda fishy but who knows

It was legit. They were bowling a make up match after the regular league session was over. The continuing word is that it probably won't be approved because he was bowling unopposed.
-
I can understand the camera work.. people tend to do things like that when excited.
The "OMG look at me, I am screaming like a spastic schoolgirl on a sugar rush" loud mouth... now that is another story.

They must have some really tough lane conditions in Dayton. Fero Willams set a record for 800's in a season (19) bowling at some of the same houses as George. I don't know if they bowl in the same league but they are listed in some of the same leagues under their league info. I bet no one would get in jackpot with those 2 bowling.

If I read it right...he has 15 800's since January 2nd! I had a chance to watch Fero bowl at the PTQ in Hammond this year...as well as a sweeper later that nite in my own house...the guy has a great and powerful game...but WOW!!!...wonder what kind of average he's carrying this year

No offense... but if they are really that good, why don't I see them on the PBA telecast every week? The fact that they aren't on the show every week, is just telling me that the shot does indeed matter.
*Devil's advocate mode off*
-
Well you can see Fero Williams on Team USA for the next 2 years if that's any consolation. And GG3 at anywhere with big $$ on the line whacking em.

To find out what exactly? That the shot does indeed matter? Get out on tour, and averag the same thing as on a THS, then you will have proved your point. A 230 average on tour will get you on the show every week. And if indeed the shot isn't a factor to those big scores, I should be seeing you guys on TV every week. My wallet will be right next to me while I sit in anticpation next season to see your holiness on the show proving me wrong.
-
And seeing as how you have cashed on tour. Is your tour average the same as your THS average?
-
The"idiot" does have a ABC eagle to his credit also.
Trust me,he isnt your normal house hack,he can bowl.

He has a 246 average after 66 games in one league;

I personally bowled against Fero this week. He now has 20 800's this season. He bowled 817 against me. Fero is good. If he wasn't then I don't think he would be on Team USA. As for GG3 he is young and extremely smooth. He won an eagle last year at the USBC in the team event. I also know who the idiot is. He is really good also. If I am not mistaken somewhere around 5th all time in 800's. On a house shot or not that is a great accomplishment.

I have bowled against both of those guys. They are that good.
The 899 was shot during a make-up. Due to a snow storm a week earlier, a few teams bowled the make-up after league was over. GG3 wasn't even scheduled to bowl. He stopped by the center to visit and a team asked him to sub with them during the make-up session after league.

Why? Because his clothes are baggy?

Solid 7 Pin?? 299 Game??!! WTF
-
The Camera Man was Dale Eagle... He was excited he lost control for a few minutes.. give him a break...
GG3's series most likely will NOT be approved as it was during a "make up session" for the league in which he was subbing.. The league got postponed due to weather one week and there were three teams that decided to bowl their scores in this particular date..
GG3 was practicing, and on his way out was asked to sub. So, he decided to sub, flushed about 34 in a row, rolled a three pin, then stoned a seven pin for 899... Who gives a flying "F" if it is certified or not? He did it, well all know he did it, and it is on video... Screw Mushturd and let him live in shame...

I've seen this kid bowl.
He is the real deal to be sure.
He bowled in my mixed doubles league last summer and every time you looked up he had 8,9,10, in a row or another 300.
He can repeat shots like a machine.
Tall skinny kid.
Looks like a point guard.
-
the last 5 shots were all on one lane werent they? what leagues do you get to bowl 3 frames in a row on the same lane?
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQKfa9zXHAQ&NR=1
thats the crowd id expect. and hell let everybody wine about how leftys have it easier now b/c the 2 that are on here both are left handed.

legends/lane masters.....what more do you need?

If you actually did it... congratulations.
The dress code remark has more to do about the "Dress Code" thread from about the same time, and the fact that your dress resembled what most people in that thread were complaining about (ie wearing a hat and jeans, and not wearing slacks and a bowling shirt). Take it personally if you want, doesn't effect me one way or another. I called it like I saw it.
-
I have to agree with what has been said, most bowling stops if someone is about to bowl ONE 300.If someone was on for a 900 you would be able to hear a pin drop between shots.
--------------------
I would have got away with it if it was not for those pesky kids (Behind my lane) and those blasted 10 pins.

Don't know what league you're bowling in, but 300's in some of the classic leagues I've bowled in are about as common and boring as someone picking up a 6-7-10. Sad consequences of what bowling has done to honor scores.
About 3 years ago...I was 6 pairs down from someone who went 300-300-278. It wasn't even until after the 2nd 300 that I even heard someone talking about it.
15 years ago when I was in junior leagues...a 17-year kid had the front 9 and when he went for the 300 in the tenth (which he got)...the ENTIRE 48-LANE house stopped and crowded behind his pair to watch. You could hear a pin drop. Shows you what 15 years, resin, and easy lane conditions can do.
-
George,
Don't let them get to you. You have a tremendous amount of talent. I am just sorry I didn't stay longer than night.
Mike
-
Why are some of you guys ripping on this guy for shooting a good series. I don't care if it's on the biggest wall of china, it's still awesome that he threw 34 straight strikes.
Great bowling!
Now the camera man shouldn't quit his day job! Just kidding! Good to get it on vid.
--------------------
HAMMER NO MERCY is Un-freaking real! Using this ball is like cheating!
-
I don't care how good someone is. That many 800's in 3 months is ridiculous. Yes they must be good but come on. John Chacko bowls in his parents house and has around 90 and hasn't bowled that many in three months.
-
The Cameraman sounds like Jim Ross from WWE Raw when he rolled the Tre and left a ringing 7. Great bowling and Excellent composure under pressure.

Oops, my fault.. I thought someone told me that is who he was...

"THROW IT PURE BABY!! WOOOOO!!" <-- That is priceless!
899 is awesome George! Congratulations!
God Bless You All and have a great week!
