Title: Good video of a great release....
Post by: jbruno6 on March 26, 2007, 01:31:40 AM
This was probably posted here before, but it's worth seeing again.  Timmy Mack, back in 2002, just tearing the cover off of the ball.  The dream release....

I bet he would lose money if he bowled the PBA..  he is probably making so much right now, he can't justify taking a pay cut

Ryan,

He bowled on tour a few years ago, and he's bowled in many a PTQ.  As I understand it, he makes plenty of money bowling abroad and in high-level amateur tournaments here.  He gave the tour a shot and didn't do very well.  I don't believe it's a case of skill, he can't possibly have the success he has without being extremely talented.  Rather, I think the competition was much tougher and he wasn't used to the way the conditions played and transitioned.  When most of your opponents lead the transition or create the transition while you're merely following it, it's tough to get ahead.

Does anyone know who the guy is next to him, about 55 seconds into the vid?  He really looks like someone I know from that angle (Tuna anyone?).

Rags, you could be right. It could be. I can't tell if the guy's too tall or not - but it sure does look like him from the back - also the way he screws his hand into the ball looks like him.
good catch!
