Your strength and good timing are hiding a flaw. As you swing the ball to the back, your ball comes away from your body. You continue the swing with the ball away from your body, which causes you to pull it back to your target. Work on your crossover step to keep the swing in line. Keep your release close to your ankle. This will give you better leverage and in turn, more accuracy.
This sir is something that I havent noticed before. Something I will work on for sure.
The coach is right, crossing over the first step can help with clearing your hip/leg for your swing.
Your push away is late and tradition says to push away the same time you take the first step. To some bowlers, even for christ barnes, this "late" push away is not wrong. I start my push away just as I complete my second step (I take 5 steps). But, You might benefit with the "traditional" push away where the feet the the push away starts together.
Your feet follows your swing and this could shorten your power step when you start the push away together with the first step.
your tempo looks like this 1.2..3...4slide_____ or short, medium, long, and slide____
the recommended tempo taught by most for 4 step is 1...2..3.4slide____ long, medium, short, and slide___
For others it may be: medium, medium, short, and slide.....
Long and medium first step depends the length of the individual's upper extremity and/or length of the push away. but, it should be natural and free as possible.
Must add.... getting a coach to work with you personally is the way to go.
