Title: Just one quick shot - rev estimate?
Post by: MrNickRo on February 12, 2013, 12:02:58 PM
I'm just looking to see if anything can be gathered from this one shot with my newish Storm Frantic:

1. Estimated rev rate
2. Good/bad rev to speed ratio
3. General free comments ;)

Be sure to change the quality and watch in full screen!
It's actually not horrible quality for my silly iPhone camera.

High rev rate lol. That's pretty much all I can tell. There are mathematical methods to figure it out. It would be a lot easier by placing a piece of white tape across your PAP on a solid colored ball though.

Impossible to do anything other than guess at rev rate from that angle and distance.  A darker color ball with a piece or two of white thumb tape between your PAP and fingers with the camera on the approach will make the job much easier.

If you check out the wiki of bowlingchat.net, it will tell you how to shoot a vid to calculate rate. You'll need tape above the ring finger in a straight line to your PAP.

I'm looking for something simple to work on this week at practice.  Does anybody see anything sticking out in the above video?

Any comments are appreciated!
