just a recommendation:

next time get a even lane an film from the right side that will give a better picture of the whole apporach
--------------------
When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one

This guy on youtube posts videos of the PBA
for ppl who dont watch TV or want to save the matches this will be great!

I have bben through the transformation from no thumb to using my thumb. It has taken around two years to finally get to a point where I am profecient at it. Pin-nut makes a valid point that you are getting to the side of the ball to early. I think this is residue from not using your thumb where you feel like you need to come around the ball to make it hook.
The biggest thing that has helped me in this regard is to relize that less is more. What I mean by this is that the less I try to help the ball hook the more consistent my game gets. I still hook it plenty and can add hook when needed. I have just come to the conclusion that maximum hook does not equate to max scores.
I also notice that your back swing comes behind your back, a problem I am still trying to eliminate in my game. I believe this also relates to the no thumb approach as we have been pulling the ball into a backswing for a long time when not using the thumb. It also stems from havig to line up so far left due to the nature of a no thumb delivery. Something that has helped for me is to practice going straight up the boards more often. When your shoulder is aligned with your target and you don't have to force the ball to the right it helps develop that straight back straight forward armswing.
I hope some of these suggestions help. Keep practicing and bowl great!
If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks people!

In fact I always struggled to keep the ball near my body and tended to swing it out to far too the right.... guess that killed my aiming

Looks like I am now in the opposite direction with the same problem... bad aiming .

Need to change that

About the "staying behind the ball".
It was hard for me to get a good ball reaction that day so I tried to play the ball with sideroll.... (it is drilled too much for lenght on that oily shot I train on. Here's a picture:
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/59/5585759/400_6438656364346362.jpg)

I know this is important cause it makes the ball carry the pins better and that less is more.

You got to a mayor problem of my game: "forcing the ball" ...

Need to change that, too.

As I said I am also way to fast with my ballspeed for this ball to get to the pocket

So sumup:

I need to:
- stay behind the ball (maybe switch ball? Mr.Grayson?)!
- get the armswing more enlined with my target (I'll work on that)
- slow down (my own impression..
I just sometimes can't slow down. Any tip what to to then?)
- follow throu... I tend to grab the ball at the moment of release instead of just following it with the armswing up (so I was told by a friend; he said it would give me more consistency in the release and revs. Cause in his oppinion some over under reaction that day came from me grabbing the ball differently)

What I should do (just a guess)
- bend my knee
- not lean forward that much

Thanks again.
... working on it ...

It is hard for me to change these things cause I train for 1 year now with three finger-style and did some big misstakes along the way (no one cared... no one coached me) ... and these bad habits are so deeply inveterate... hard to get rid of 'em.

About the lane-vid-position.
I just got that lane.. bad luck... but:

I will takea along/use a tripod bext time.
Although it will look strange with the little photo-camera on that mighty tripod (I use it to put a telescop on it normaly... so you might get a clue how sturdy and strong the tripod is and then the little camera on it not bigger than my palm )

Okay thanks again and more to come.

All Vids will be put into my Profile and I will make a new post next week when I got my other ball.

Nice vid!

But just as others remarked before, try to make video shots directly from behind (so one can see more from the pedulum and footwork) and from the right side at the foul line, which reveals a lot about timing and overall body movements.

Beste Grüße von etwas weiter nördlich...
