Well, I put these in response to a post asking if people were taking lessons. I will put here to (with less text)
I just had my first one on one lesson ever. K&K Bowling here in Vegas opened a training center with a "mock" lane (full approach and lane to past the arrows - no pins). It's nice because you get to see back/front/side video in sync on playback.
So here are a few videos:
Videos 1 and 2 are just a couple shots at the beginning
Video 1 - Back Video 2 - FrontAfter talking with the instructor (Adam). We tried to work on three things
1. Not locking out the arm on the pushaway -trying to keep a slight elbow bend to increase revs
2. Trying to spread out the steps a little (I have very small second and third steps - when you are 6'6" and start at the first set of dots you know you take small steps).. The smaller steps lead to more of a slide including sliding after the ball is released - which again loses some power.
3. Last - I am more of a down and inner, but have found the need to move inside more as I slow the ball down and get more revs. However, the walk towards your mark that I was taught only works so much. So... I wanted to work on walking straighter so I could open up the lane when needed (notice the cone).
Here is a final shot (same shot front and back). As you can see, I have a lot of work to do to try and implement these changes
Videos 3 and 4 are the same shot from front and back with my trying to make the changes.
Video 3 - FrontVideo 4 - Back If anyone wants to make a comment, I am all ears
