My Roto Grip RS1 hits hard as hell!
« on: September 01, 2009, 04:27:37 PM »
I can't get over this vid, I dunno maybe it's just me, but I still have yet to see a ball hit as hard as MY Roto Grip RS1.  Didn't have a whole lot of hook on it that day, the lanes were medium dry, burnt up heads so I was lofting a little, following through hard, and just letting it do it's thing.  I rarely use this ball, it's old but in good shape and I have newer gear, but I will never get rid of it.  It's just the hardest hitting ball I've ever used or seen and I've been around the scene for a minute or two.  When I bowl with it, you can hear it all over the alley just crushing the pins.  Maybe it's just a freak?  There are newer balls and people say they hit like "Mack Trucks", but they really don't compared to this ball.  Having a ball hit really hard is just a quality I love in a ball.

Guess you would have to have been there, maybe it's the camera, or the acoustics in the alley, who knows.  I dunno, maybe turn your volume up.

But it hits noticeably and considerably harder than my Cell Pearl and Venom.

Oh well.

My guess is that you had a good match of conditions and actually made the ball "work" properly. It is amazing which forces a propely released and applied bowling ball can unleash, and it does not take modern high end equipment to achieve this. I have some old stuff that functions very well in its intended condition window, and when thing "run", sound and pin mix are spectacular (e. g. with my Revolution Renegade from 2000, or a Fuze Igniter from 2002). Even an old urethane Hammer can "work", a good and clean hit is not restricted to new bling balls
