Hi All,

In the following 2 part video John Jameson from Innovative Bowling Products shows the proper technique for Resurfacing a bowling ball using abralon pads and a cabinet mounted spinner...

Part 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSfhWoduwQk

Part 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlh_tEsMfU4

It may not be the most thrilling video ever, but there is some good info inside as he talks while he resurfaces the ball...

Enjoy and comments and questions are welcome

I really do like John and the Innovative Products, but you talk about old school when you come to this video. Number one, you should always use water when you do a full resurface like that, helps the abralon pads last longer and helps get the oil off the surface. Number two, not using contour cabs and using your hands can create flat spots by any hole in the ball, which is bad for any kind of bowler who tracks close to thier fingers or thumb.
This might be an OK starter video for someone doing thier own equipment at home, but for proshop owners, I don't think so.

I thought that it was best to go from finer grit to lower grit.  Or is that just if you're changing the surface, and not resurfacing it?

You'd be bowling with a ball at 180 grit.. I don't think thats what they intended.

do you always sand across the grain when changing sanding grits?

if yes does that get rid of those stubborn sanding lines left behind after resurfaces?

just wondering,
