I'm pretty consistant, I don't bowl 300 games, but usually I'm scoring around 170-200, and no, no back swing haha

I find it pretty hard to use my thumb and hooking the ball, so I only use my middle and ring finger, and them palm the ball

From what i have seen of others that throw similiar I have to ask the question.  How well do you shoot spares?  specifically the 7 pin.  my guess is if you were to insert your thumb you would probably average higher because then you could make spares.

I only recently started hooking the ball... usually ill throw a spare straight down the lane to the pin, and sometimes (not often) ill hook a 7 pin spare.

if u want to keep bowling like that u should check out this guy who bowls 2handed, but yet u still have to develope a backswing of a certain kind

http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=20060303

world masters game 11

u will have to change a lot in ur approach but thats the perfect 2hand style (well maybe not perfect but one of the most succesful)

as far as suggestions on what to change, heres couple of suggestions (this is not general so it might not match up with ur style)

- start slow, now ur approach doesnt look rhythmical
- less loft, problem with the thumbless release is often it "hooks too much", try releasing at a lower level
- less muscle on the release, this creates inconsistency
- develope a backswing, with backswing u dont have to muscle the ball, since u have a push away (push towards ur target) the swing will automatically help u to hitting the mark
- stay balanced after the release, this requires lots of practice but it is very useful to make adjustments later on, and to look more "pro" since theres no player in the PBA tour who loses balance after their strike ball
--------------------
When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one

This guy on youtube posts videos of the PBA
for ppl who dont watch TV or want to save the matches this will be great!

Take the time now and learn to bowl with your thumb. This is comming from someone that used to bowl nothumb alot like what you are doing now. If you really want to get better and continue to improve it is the best advice that you can get.

Whether you think you can, or whether you think you can't... you're probably right.

well after taking the advice for developing a backswing, I went to my local alley, and started working on a backswing. As time went by, I think ive got a comfortable backswing, and it doesnt seem like I have to muscle the ball, just as said.
I am still not very comfortable using my thumb, any suggestions?
