Seismic Raging Bull Stampede
« on: March 20, 2013, 08:08:55 PM »
Got it drilled up today, and took it out for a test run.

Played with it for two games, swinging all over the lane to see where it would and wouldn't come back from, or if it would or would not hold. No hold with this one, but super recovery from missing right.

Third game:

4th and 5th could not be recorded due to camera dying, but went 267-258 after the third.

In love with it already.

Maybe I am just too critical....or maybe I just have too high expectations...

You say you threw 2 games before you filmed the video. Sooo you burned up a shot and then make a video of how well the ball works??? A ball that is supposed to be for heavier oil/show more hook???

Sorry. If you want to show the true performance of this ball, put it on a fresh condition, not a 2 game old condition. Put it on a Sport pattern, but at least tell us what pattern it is on. This ball may be great, but this video is pretty much worthless. Who knows how burned up the shot is, or how much extra traction the 2 games gave it. Not worth the time it takes to watch.

This video may not show the hook potential of the Stampede, however Google the ball and watch some of the other videos out there and you will see that this ball will out hook most balls on as much oil as you can throw at it. BTM's review of the Stampede said " This ball could hook in the ocean." One thing to remember is that this ball is designed for long or heavy oil conditions and many times a heavy oil ball not used in actual heavy oil will burn up and look somewhat pedestrian. But trust me throw this beast on some heavy shots and it will rev and finish like a beast.

Raidernation,
I am not doubting the hook potential of the ball. I was just stating that the video in question does not properly show it. First, as I stated, this is a burned up shot, the videoee (if that is a word) states he bowled 2 games prior to shooting the video. So how much of the hook is due to the ball, and how much is due to the prior games? Also, there is no mention of the shot, unless there is a voiceover which I didn't hear as I saw this at work. So is this a long, heavy Sports pattern, in which case the motion shown in the video would be quite impressive, or is this a house shot in which case the video doesn't real show much at all. Lastly, what was the drilling on the ball, is it drilled to go long, drilled to hook early, somewhere in between (again if in a voiceover I missed it)?!? While I appreciate the effort put in by the original poster, if you are going to do it, why not at least do it right and show the true nature of the ball. How hard would it have been, if after the bowler rolled his 2 games and found the best line for the ball, to move to other lane of the pair to shoot the video? That way we have a fresh shot and no worries about how much of the motion comes from he burn created. And it doesn't take much to put in the post or in the video what the pattern is and what the drilling is.

I never meant this as an attack on the poster or the ball. It was meant as constructive criticism to help the poster put out better products in the future, so that they can show something that others can find really useful.

Alright, I'm back to clarify. Wasn't trying to make this a professional video or anything, a serious one is coming later, but I was just excited I found something that worked for me and  put it up. I should have put what the shot was, understand that.

Anyway, shot was an ALREADY burned up THS, so the ball actually isn't hooking as much as it probably would if it were given fresh oil. I WANTED to move to another pair, personally, as I would have gotten fresh, (They were in the middle of re-oiling for league). But I couldn't due to the re-oiling. I know most houses work with people trying to film, but I actually got frowned at when I pulled my tripod out, so I took what I got.

Should things play out and I get to film the tournament I'm bowling on the 6th of April, I'll make sure you get to see it on fresh, Jorge.

And otherwise, a polite request for a shot layout would be nice. And I'll upload the first two games of my throwing it around if you'd like. Lots of burning up and going through the head pretty well sums them up, just to save your time.

Just a suggestion / observation for future videos.

I really like it when i can see more of the release in the video to get an idea of what the ball might do differently off my hand.  I would suggest setting the camera back just a little farther to see the whole swing  Also you should include typical ball speed and rev rate.

Will do. Trying to get some editing software that is more manageable than using Flipshare or Youtube's own.  But more of the release is easy to accomplish.

Plan on multiple angles/shots next Saturday when I get some practice in.
