Total NV and The One on a sport shot
« on: May 02, 2007, 07:41:09 AM »
Total NV is drilled with a 6" pin under middle finger with MB at 45 deg at 4000grit plus polish.
The One is drilled with a 5-1/2" pin over bridge with MB at 60deg at 2000grit and polish.

The oil pattern is a 39ft long med-heavy sport shot

Here's the video

great form...i think you throw the ball very well...i wanna no wut psort pattern that is, cuz i wanna bowl that, it looked like cake to me, the shots you got inside still went out and came right back and then the shots you leaked right a lil bit still flew back to the hole...the sport patterns we bowl for college are no where near like that, lol...but very nice video and it was nice to see it

nice roll u put there on the ball

but i doubt if thats a real sport shot, it looks like house shot with some oil

the reason why i think is that is by watching the last 4 shots, first 2 of the last 4 were pretty much identical, but the next one u missed outside and it came back pretty hard, then the last one was perfect again so u got high flush.

anyway nice video

When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

out of the last 4 the First two were the Total NV the next two after that were the  One where i was playing further right on the lane that with the TNV. That last shot was high flush because i missed the target two boards inside. Our house shot is a certified sport shot, i just make it look easy

ohhh lol

i was paying more attention to the ball path rather than the ball

does ur house always put a sport shot? or its when u ask for it?
and wheres that house? near toronto?
(i live in ontario)

edit: i just watched ur old video again, did i mention before that ur approach looks like TJ?

I can back it up that it's definitely a sport shot, bowled there twice this year. A 155 ave and a last place at YBC back in April and a 177 ave and a 2nd place at CTF that I never should have got. All because all we have in my city is cake shots. But anyways nice video Mike good luck at YBC Nationals.

Hey guys

I also bowl @ Mario's in Thunder Bay, as well as work there.

Here is a scan of the most recent lane graph I could get.

Don't know how to read it but I am told it counts as a sport shot.

May you rip into as your lesiure

can some1 explain that graph?

from my understanding, that pattern has dry outside, kinda like a house shot

but again, im learning so correct me if im wrong

the graph says that the oil is very flat in the front part of the and then later on the amount of oil on the outside goes down.

To find the ratio you take the average amount of oil on the sides R3-7 and L3-7board and the middle R18-L18board. Divide the middle average by the side average and you get the ratio.

For our pattern here are the averages taken using the amount of oil from the 15ft spot and the 37ft spot (USBC states two feet before end of pattern and 22ft, we have one done at 15ft instead of 22ft but this should still be accurate enough)
Right ave: 10.08
Left ave: 11.585
combined side ave: 10.83
Middle: 20
20/10.83=1.84
ratio: 1.84:1

I would like to point out that a sport shot can play almost as easy as ths.  Dont get me wrong, Inferno_256 throw a heck of a ball, but I've seen and bowled on an easy sport condition.  Should I point out that A couple years back the high average for a sport league was 230+.  Knowing some of the guys that bowled on it and see how they usually average on a sport condition such as this year, a pattern can be compliant yet boost your average by a ton.  I'm talking 20+ pins.  And yes, these were certified as well.

Our shot is certified sport, I think your forgetting that the front half of the pattern is nearly flat it's not only until the very end of the pattern where the oil goes down to a 4:1 ratio. Missing outside by more than a board is OB but there is a small hold spot on the inside maybe two boards. The backend reaction can be explained by the 500rpm rev rate and aggressive balls.
