Joe,
I think you're going to see more young bowlers, bowling 2 handed.
I don't know how long a bowler's body will last, bowling 2 handed...
We'll see.

I hope alot of the kids decide this is a great style. If I should decide to specialize in knee repair surgery, I will have an income for many years.

Coasterp .. I wonder if you are right!

I've watched a few of these bowlers and it seems to me that it's a smooth motion to delivery ..awkward compared to one hand bowlers but don't know if there is a real strain on the knees!

Have you tried it? I did for two frames .. unsuccessful .. but I did NOT use the two fingers in ... didn't know that was the way to throw it .. tried CUPPING the ball. I WILL try it again!

I think it's less the style, than they are doing it 5 hours a day. You do anything 5 hours a day, you're going to get better fast.

Hope they have some good Chiropractors down in Bolivia!

Yes I have tried it. I used to bowl no thumb and beat the crap out of my knee. After one game of the two-handed release, I remembered why I stopped bowling no thumb.

REMEMBER I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT 2 HANDED BOWLING .. but looking at it .. it appears to be a combo of NO THUMB and TWO HANDS! Somehow (don't know why) the two handed style with no thumb seems to be fairly smooth and NOT hard on the KNEES or BACK ..that's only through observation not TRIAL and ERROR!

Is there anyone on BR that has been doing TWO HAND BOWLING for a period of three years or more?

I HOPE to practice Friday and will try a few frames of two handed .. it intrigues me!

I did it from the time I was 3 until 17.. Dan DOrian is the reason I switched.. He didnt think it was too acceptable back then.. But the score didnt lie. I didnt have any knee or back problems or anything.. the only injuries I had were from basketball.

oh and im 24 now..

Hey there Joe,

I've been playin' around with the 2 handed style for well over 15 years and have not experienced any problems that have hindered me from still going.  I think if people are experiencing pains, they should work with a coach to figure out why the pains are occurring and find ways to correct it.  With the correct work out regimen and practice to have your body used to the motions, I think that you can last the test of time with this style.
