Vid of Me
« on: May 02, 2008, 09:19:07 AM »
Time for me to join the ranks.  Here's me.  Just an FYI, the audio on this file is a little loud, turn down the speakers a bit for this one.

If you guys or gals have any suggestions feel free to make them known!

Thanks and have a great weekend everyone.

Not bad at all, but something just seems a bit off to me with your game. I cant quite put a finger on it but it just seems like something is off. The only thing that i can notice is that you start your arm swing a little late. You take 5 steps, you should start your arm swing on the second step, where you start almost on your third. Other than that, keep up the good work.

Thanks for the input! I know exactly what you're referring to when you mention my timing.  I've been working on that a lot lately.  The main issue I have, and you may notice this in the video, is that I don't clear my right leg fast enough for the bottom of my swing.  The ball comes very close to my right leg just before release, so some changes I've made have adjusted my timing so that if I get into the swing late, I get to my finish point in the approach sooner which allows for several things:

1. I can clear my right leg faster
2. It creates a flat spot in my downswing to allow for better leverage and a smoother release
3. Allows me to finish with my shoulders square so I can hit my targets better

It's been working so far, the last two tournaments I've averaged 216 and my average coming in is only a 200.  We'll see where it goes from here.
