Help A Guy Out Here
« on: November 16, 2008, 03:58:05 PM »
Here's a video of me bowling... its one game straight through minus one frame where my genius friend stood in front of the camera.  Might want to turn the sound down as my laptops microphone has crappy quality.  Final score was in the 230's... pretty good game for me.  I'm not usually this direct... lanes were soaked tonight.  Thoughts and opinons welcome.  By the way I'm throwing an Action Attack for anyone wondering.

My stats:

19 Years Old
5 Years of Bowling Experience
300 High Game / 835 High Set
P.A.P. 5 3/4 Over and 1/4 Up

EDIT: Helps if I put the link:

So I was thinking.. Final score in the 230s.. pretty good game for someone with a 300/835?

Then I saw what hand you were using.. and it all made sense!

A lot of those shots lack leverage. Some of them you fall off the shot. You muscle the hell out of the ball. Maybe do some comparisons to Parker Bohn. He is very fluid and balanced.

Unfortunately in this case leverage is the end result of many things and it wouldn't be prudent to work them out over an internet video. Coaching would be the best bet.

Can you score well on a THS like that? Sure. I don't see you having success on sport shots doing that though. Maybe to the naked eye you wont see the discrepancies as exaggerated, but I bet if you were looking at CATS data, your lines would look like the oil ring flare on a bowling ball.
