I think I found my new go to ball for just about any lane condition, house or sport. This ball starts in the mids and is very predictable and even with the backend reaction. I haven't been able to throw this ball through the breakpoint yet. It will suit a wide range of styles, speeds and rev rates. The thing I like the best about this ball is that I know exactly what it's going to do. Very predictable and comfortable ball to throw. Good job, Brunswick!

this ball is amazing!! for my this ball clears the heads very easy and has a strong and continuous backend. its drilled pin next to the ring finger with the cg kicked just a bit. i averaged 213 last season and so far am at 245 with this ball. one of the best balls i have ever thrown. cant wait to try a revoler. keep it up brunswick.

Drilling: Pin 4" from PAP and Mb 45 degrees from PAP, 30 degrees V.A.L.Line. DUAL ANGLE. Pin is above ring finger. Weight Hole on the axis. Factory Rough Buff.

Bowler Information:
Track diameter is 11 5/8.
PAP is measured at 4 11/16 over and 11/16 up.
Average ball speed (foul line to head pin) is 13 mph.
Axis rotation is typically 90 degrees
Initial rev rate is typically 200 rpm, "Tweener"
Lane Condition and Pattern:
AMF West Allis, AMF HPL-9000 synthenic panel, medium oil clean back ends.

Review:
The selling points of this ball are the durability of the Activator plus cover and the slower absorption rate of oil thus making this ball last longer. The low rg shaped core spins up quickly helping the ball get into a roll, with that said this is what I saw when my Daughter Ashley threw it.

This ball is absolutely a winner for her and matches up perfectly for her spinner type release. I was surprised on how much hook this low grade polished ball had, for her the ball matches up best on a medium to oily condition and revs up very quick. It has a strong arch type hook. This ball hooks and hits like any $200 plus ball. Compared to her Brunswick C.S. 4.5, the Anaconda is 4-5 feet earlier at the breakpoint and is 3-4 boards more overall hook.

Again Billy O. and Brunswick rule the "bang for your buck" marketplace designing the best mid priced balls out there.

The Anaconda is absolutely amazing! I haven't found a place or shot that I didn't like it on. Its been the first ball out of my bag every night for league since I've gotten it and works amazing for a benchmark ball at tournaments. I drilled the pin up at 5 1/2 inches from my PAP,which placed in right above my bridge, and put the cg just to the right of my center of grip at 5 inches from my PAP. The ball pick up and continues through the pin deck, which works great for both fresh and carry down because the ball doesn't have too drastic or to subtle of a reaction. It also allows me to manipulate the ball reaction down lane because the motion isn't too jerky or too smooth.

Description - The Anaconda is the first ball with Activator Plus coverstock available at the Advanced Performance price point.

Drilling - 2 1/2 x 5 1/2. No Weight Hole

Reaction - I chose this drilling as the AMF center that I bowl in has extreme wet-dry conditions. With my medium speed, my previous ball reactions were too quick and caused all kinds of problems for me. With this drilling, I was able to play around 12-15 at the arrows, and clear the fronts with ease, watch the transisiton to the dry and allow the strong cover and dry back ends to give a smooth but aggressive move to the pocket.

Overall - If you are looking for aggressive, controllable power, you dont have to look no further than Anaconda

Right Handed, Cranker style, I usually play between 3rd and 4th arrows, 16 mph speed
"Out of the box" Surface, 500 grit Micropad with Rough Buff on top
My PAP is 5 3/8" over and 7/8" up Dual Angle Drilling Layout - 45 Deg x 4 1/2" x 65 Deg which puts the pin below my ring finger and has a P2 weight hole

I wanted a ball that would start up sooner but didn't have a ton of backend on a fresh shot. What I got was a great rolling ball that has a smooth arc. The ball doesn't quit on the backend and keeps going through the pins. This ball doesn't over-react to friction, and is very good even on a 2nd shift league which is were I used it for the first time. I have to say that this might just be my new favorite ball on house patterns even though I only used it 1 time so far. I would recommend this ball for most any house conditions and if you are looking for a smooth ball that won't go crazy when reaching the friction, this ball won't disappoint. Another great ball from Brunswick at a great price point!

Got this ball out of curiosity, just to try it out. Drilled it to be smooth through the heads and have a smooth arc in the backend.

Out of the box, all i can say is that this isnt the ball for me. Tended to be a little finicky. Sometimes it would check up early, and some times the ball wouldnt turn at all. I didnt know why. Ended up putting the ball away after trying it for 3 games.
Cant blame the ball though yah know

Theres always something you can do.

Gave the ball another chance a while later and this time i Highly Polished the ball. Now the ball started reacting much more consistanly, and had a smoother arcing motion in the backend. Noticed the ball hits decently hard for a ball on the cheaper side.

Pretty good ball polished. Just not the ball for me out of the box. Had to play around with the coverstock to make this ball to my liking.
But i know alot of other bowlers will love this ball

I've laid my Anaconda out Pin Below the Bridge (5" to PAP)

The Anaconda is extremely smooth. It provides average length, is very rolly and has just the right amount of backend to kick out the 10. I've enjoyed this ball on the fresh house pattern as it smooths out the wall for me and allows me to control the strong backends. I also have appreciated this ball's shape on the cheetah pattern as again I am able to control the pattern - particularly my bounce off the outside boards.

In terms of reaction I find this ball to be slightly longer and stronger than my solid Avalanche, but smoother and weaker than my C system 2.5. The Anaconda is a control piece with the potential to handle all sorts of medium volume patterns. I would recommend it to anybody looking for a first ball out of your bag, particularly on fresh synthetic surfaces.

Likes: Used it to replace my Wild Thing, which in turn had replaced a Pearl Fury. Great read ball on tournament conditions. Very versatile for a variety of conditions. Very typical of what made Brunswick equipment great for tournament conditions before the Furys C Systems and Sieges.

Dislikes: The only thing better than the Absolute Inferno was the Vapor Zone. They should have puit the asymetrical core in this one and made it a Vapor Zone remake. You need some dry board somewhere with this ball.

#1- I purchased the Anaconda because it has the same cover/core combination of the
Absolute Inferno. We layed it out with the same layout I had on the Absolute and
I can say without a shadow of a doubt, that this ball is even better than the Absolute.
At first look, it had the same look and reaction as the Absolute, except it was
a little stronger in the back and hit harder. This ball easily became my benchmark
ball. No matter the pattern type, volume, or length, I am able to get a read and
a look to the pocket with this ball, from going up the back of the ball playing
outside 5 on short, or playing 22 and not giving away the 2 pin on long, this ball
will keep me in the pocket.

#2- On the medium volume, the ball had no issue recovering playing 16 to 5 and hit
like it weighed 20lbs. On the heavier pattern, moving 4 left and using 4 as a breakpoint
down lane, I saw a similar reaction and hit/carry. Bowling on shorter patterns,
which is what I had this ball drilled for, it gave me a great read on the transition
from oil to backend and is my new bench mark ball for short patterns.

DISLIKES

#1- On longer patterns, while this ball doesn't give up the pocket, carry does suffer.
However, with this comes the ability to get a good read on the lane and know what
ball to change to.

#2- Bowling on short, when the pattern does start to break down, if you don't make
the necessary move, the ball picks up early and will tend to go high. However, either
moving out and being firmer, or moving in and beginning to open it up in the front
part of the lane (depending on what the pattern calls for), kept the ball in the
pocket and didn't suffer any carry problems.

OVERALL

Having Anaconda #1 for about 6 months and Anaconda #2 for a week and seeing what
it can do has solidified the fact that (with no disrespect to the Wicked Siege,
Loaded Revolver, or the Alpha-Max, which are really good balls) the Anaconda is
the best ball in Brunswick's current line. Everyone should have at least one Anaconda.
If you liked the Absolute Inferno, this ball will not only replace the spot once
occupied by that ball, but surpass it.

Absolute Inferno:

-threw consecutive strikes for 2000 straight games

-used the serial number to win the lottery

-serial number helped remind me of my 50th wedding anniversary

-the color scheme put me in the right state of mind to write that novel that helped me win a Pulitzer and the Nobel Peace Prize.

-it's shagadelic

Anaconda

-green, i like green

-engraved eyes scared me straight, thought I was going to turn to stone

-did I mention its green?

-easy to find on the ball return because its usually the only green brunswick ball there

-its round not oval

conclusion:

its a toss up, more empirical research required, or maybe I'll just toss them up and whichever lands on the ground wins. Hope the green ball wins
