Shock ZonePro
« on: December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM »
The Shock ZoneProâ„¢ expands the envelope of Proactiveâ„¢ performance by combining a high RG core system with a DTX Proactive cover stock to produce the latest reacting, most skid-snap Proactive ball to date. The large doorknob shaped core incorporates a 2” diameter low-density sphere in the center of the ball to push the RG Max to 2.639, the highest ever achieved with a DTX Proactive cover stock. This higher RG, in combination with the medium-high 0.048 RG differential creates an overall RG average of 6.1, also the highest ever for a DTX Proactive. This core/cover combination helps to keep the ball in check through the front part of the lane, allowing it to unleash its power in the mid-lane and back-end.  Thus the Shock ZonePro provides a Proactive ball with better down-lane recovery and increased entry angle into the pocket than other Proactive choices. The performance of the ball makes it the perfect choice to bridge the gap between Reactive balls and the more aggressive, earlier arcing Proactive balls in the Brunswick line. Compared to the other balls in the “Zone Proactive Series”, the Shock ZonePro’s overall hook potential is similar to that of the Riot ZonePro Purple Pearl, but the Shock ZonePro’s higher RG core system creates a breakpoint further down the lane, generating a more skid/snap arc than the other balls in the Proactive Series. Compared to balls in the “Zone Reactive Series”, the Shock ZonePro will produce a similar to slightly sharper arc shape compared to the Danger Zone Red Alert, but with more overall hook potential than the Red Alert. The specifications are: Part Number: 60-103409; Cover stock: Proactiveä DTX-3; Hook Potential: 115; Length: 100; Typical Breakpoint Shape: 75; RG Max: 2.639; RG Min: 2.591; RG Diff: 0.048; RG Avg: 6.1; Hardness: 76-78; Color: Burgundy Sparkle; Surface Finish: Cerium Oxide Trizactä; Weights: 12-16 lbs

Here it is again. Third 700 series in 5 weeks. 15lber. 3.5" pin. Pin just 1" right of ring finger, but 1" above ring finger as well(for length). Drilled label leverage shift, about a 2:30 drill. I love it for light-mediums, and mediums. IF I really rev it, I can use it on heavy-mediums, as well. This ball is a keeper.....and I can't put it down. Cg is 1" right of midline. I am told I can use it on sport shot as well. Can't wait to try. This cerium-oxide cover is the bomb. Nice gentle arc, carries light or long and strong.
Some days you're the bug....some days you're the windshield...that's bowling!

Overall
I got this ball in a trade from SoonerMike (traded my spirt). I wanted to choose a drill that would get good length but still have enough recovery to play extremely left. Usually I start off with medium grip pressure, medium wrist, and both the pinky and index finger spread as far as I can get them. The general reaction I get out of this ball is skid and extreme flip (have to start in front of the ball return and shoot 6th arrow to 10 board). However, I must say this is one of the most versatile balls I have ever had. Not only can I swing the ball well I can also play up the boards easily with a little wrist and grip pressure adjustment. This ball leaves a few corners because of the angle it gets.

Flat oil pattern 43ft
I started off with heavy grip pressure, max out wrist position with my pinky tucked and index finger stretched out. The ball reaction I received was to much even for playing 6th arrow (to 8 board) so I decided to move right and take it to my normal wrist position and grip pressure. I got a much better reaction with this hand position than the max hand position. I was playing over 4th arrow to 5 board. However, I liked that reaction I was not carrying as well as I wanted so I moved farther right, lite grip pressure, flat hand (still a little grab at the bottom of the release) on the approach and played over 15 out to 7. I had a few high shot with the 15 to 7 shot but I found it easier to carry and put in the pocket. I stayed with that all night and shot 600.

Pro's
The ball has a big hooking backend
Is the most verstile ball I have thrown

Con's
Tends to over hook with the least little bit of lane change.

i bought this ball cuz i missed out on it  when it came out money got short
and i worked at the bowling alley and still do but when it came out i was going to get it and missed it but about 2 months ago i got  a 16lb one for $60.00 brand new in the box off ebay . well let me tell u this ball does wonder im only 16 and ive thrown my 5th 300 with this ball  and its great i keep it shined up and shine it back up after every 12 games  but the only bad thing with this ball is that if i dont shine it up  after 12 games  i will throw my usual shot witch is 12 board to the 6 board and all i seem to get is a ball that is cranked to piss giving me a spin show only moving like a board i learned well after that happened to me. so over all this is  the best ball i own
