Likes:  Like is not a strong enough word to describe the many positive facets of this ball.  This ball is AWESOME. 

The Brute clears the heads on every condition I have bowled with it on.  The core shape allows the ball to rev easy off the hand and the coverstock retains the energy until finding significant friction down the lane. 

Versatility is the big word the comes to mind when I think of this ball...bottom line is that it should be in everyone's bag.  While many balls that come out are a piece of one's arsenal or would be a better replacement...the Brute is likely to be the "A" game ball that comes out of the bag first as a benchmark for many people.  I have recommended this ball to several people and can't think of a style this ball would not work well for...

All I can say about the Brute is WOW! Yet another ball that I went in a completely different direction with the drilling, and came out great! In previous posts, I have written that I tend to have the pin up a bit to get that length, but this one, I almost drilled out some of the pin, and it reacts like nothing I have ever had before in my arsenal. Like most of the balls I have reviewed, these bowling balls get through the front very clean, retains back end reaction, and never dies out. I have thrown other balls before going with Brunswick, and those others balls ended up dying on me. The coverstocks just faded, and I wasn't seeing the motion I once did. With all these Brunswick balls, that doesn't happen unless you get hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of games on them unlike certain bowling balls where you just need a few weeks of league and you already need to get it resurfaced.
Brunswick doesn't make bad gear. This Brute proves that fact!

This low rg and low differential ball I feel allows the bowler to due a variety of drillings and be incredibly versatile on the lanes with it.  This is a hybrid cover stock and with the cover and core combination allow this ball to really get down the lane smoothly and with ease, then responding off the pattern.  The symmetrical core revs quickly, but the cover gets it down the lane causing this to have a strong angular look to the pocket.  Also due to its amazing ability to store energy this ball hits like a truck.  I’ve drilled my Brute’s 3 different ways and have loved all of them.

Drill #1- 45 x 4 1/2 x 65- pin down, ball revs up quickly, predictable strong arcing roll. 
Drill #2- 75 x 5 x 35- pin above, ball gets way down lane with ease, hits the friction and responds with a strong angular move to the pocket.  Stored energy allows this ball to give me great carry.
Drill #3- Rico drilling.  I put the pin in the palm with weight hole down in the P3 position.  I drilled this for short, difficult sport patterns.  This drilling allows the ball to get down the lane, with its natural quick revving core, allows the ball to make a very smooth roll into the pocket.

The cover of this ball responds well to cover changes as well.  You can do most anything with this ball and you will get the desired response.  Its awesome.
