- Color: 2-Color Pearl Red/Blue
- Hardness: 75-76
- Factory Finish: 4000-grit Micro Pad
- Weight Block: (14-16#) I-Block Two-component Asymmetrical Core
- RG max: 2.570
- RG int: 2.553
- RG min: 2.520
- RG diff: 0.050
- RG asym: 0.017
- Average RG: 4.4 of 10
- Hook Potential: 155 (Scale 10-175)
- Length: 105 (Scale 25-235)
- Typical Breakpoint Shape: 90 Angular (Scale Smooth Arc 10-Angular 100)
- Flare Potential: 0.050 High (Scale Low 0.00-High 0.060)
- Recommended Lane Condition: Medium-Oily
- Description: Coverstock: CFT 2.5 The chemistry was uniquely designed to have shaped molecular structures that produce a high coefficient of friction. Because of the shape of the molecule, when the ball goes into rolling friction, which occurs at the back part of the lane, slippage is eliminated and the ball will give you maximum entry and carry. Core: I-Block - The new I-Block core was engineered specifically for the CFT 2.5 coverstock to create maximum forgiveness, strong angles along with versatile drilling layouts. Ball Motion: With its 4000-grit micro pad finish, the C-(System) 2.5 will provide good length with a strong continuous backend reaction that matches up on medium to oily lane conditions for a wide range of bowling styles. Reaction Setup: The C-(System) 2.5 can be drilled using the standard drilling techniques developed for asymmetric bowling balls. After more than 18 months of research, development, and extensive lab and field tests, Brunswick is proud to introduce the new C-(System) 2.5 bowling ball, developed in close collaboration with Hall of Fame bowler Carmen Salvino. In addition to being a legendary bowler, Salvino conducts scientific research and holds multiple patents related to bowling ball design. This new line of performance bowling balls features Chemical Friction Technology (CFT). As Salvino explains, "The coverstock was chemically designed to have shaped molecular structures that produce a high coefficient of friction. Because of the shape of the molecule, when the ball goes into rolling friction, which occurs at the back part of the lane, slippage is eliminated and the ball will give you the maximum entry and carry. This is the advantage of chemical friction versus mechanical friction." "The chemistry is versatile enough that even if sanded or polished, it will not change the shape of the molecule. That is the uniqueness of this chemistry." The Chemical Friction Technology in the new C-(System) 2.5 is a difference you can feel!

Well folks, I drilled another one of these. This ball is just outsanding in carrydown. The way this ball goes through the pins is amazing. How many people can say that in 4 months have not left a flat ten with a ball. Well I can. So I drilled this one 50x5 1/2x70.
I drilled this one for fresh patterns and to be a little smoother. This is exactly what I got. I have thrown it on Shark and THS. Even being smoother, it still goes through the pins fantastic. When I see the back ends scorching, I will throw this.
This ball fits great in between the Seige and Wild Thing. For me it is very comparable to the Wild Card but with more pop downlane. If you don't believe me, drill one you won't be disappointed. It is a great ball.

Hello everyone I drilled up two of these balls for the transitions for me at Regional tournaments.
Ball one: Drilled 45x5 1/2x25 Pin Up. On our THS this ball is really clean through the fronts and makes a strong move on the back. Of course for me on THS I can throw it on the fresh for all 3 games. This ball works perfect through the carry down stages on the lane. I am serious when I say this, this ball motion is something I have never seen before from a brunswick ball. It never reads the midlane too early. It retains energy like no other. The way the ball goes through the pins is crazy. So far I have already shot 300 with this one.
Ball two: 90x5x55 Pin down. This ball responds to the oil a little bit quicker so I can play deeper with this ball than the pin up one. But for me no only does it respond quicker to the oil it also responds a little quicker to the friction. This ball will be better suited for the fresh on the shorter patterns, and the burn on longer patterns. Brunswick has one of the most complete lines I have ever seen. Go out and get a C System 2.5 YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. Bowl Brunswick!!!

Bowler Info:
400 RPM
16.5 MPH at the pins
PAP 4 5/8 x 1/8

Ball: C-System 2.5

Layout:  35° x 4-¼ in x 30°  X-hole is Gradient Line P3

Initial Surface Preparation:  1000 Siaair

Observations:
Easy through the fronts with good mid lane read. Handles carry down like nothing I’ve ever used, nearly eliminating that transition.  You don’t get the over/under you get from many other balls when this ball goes from wet to dry. What you do get is a very forgiving, smooth transition, that carries from almost any angle.

Conclusions:
I didn’t practice with this ball at all before stepping into league and the second game I bowled a 300. Forgiving, smooth and powerful are the words I use to describe this reaction.  This is a major step in technology and I recommend you take a look at what Brunswick is doing!

As with any ball, proper matching of the bowler, ball, layout and coverstock are crucial to success. Make sure you find a well educated pro shop technician to drill your next ball and your scores will increase immediately.

Special thanks to Jason for sending this ball to test.  Haven't thrown Brunswick for awhile so I wasn't sure what to expect.  Set it up with a 45x5x25.  Bowled on choppy pattern with medium oil.  Ball was smooth through the front with a controlled backend.  Easy to line up to find the pocket with this ball.  Anxious to try the 3.5 when it is released.

--- Brunswick C System 2.5 ---

As in a couple other of my reviews, I drilled this for some of the tournaments I bowled the last few weeks. Various Patterns used on.

Layout

5 inch pin, MB @ 55 degrees.

First few shots I threw with this ball I was impressed by how it went through the pins and kept everything pretty low. Wasn't over aggressive off the dry, just had a great motion overall. Found myself using this ball some on the fresh and some on the burnt due to it being enough hook overall but not to much to get myself in trouble. Again yet another great product from Brunswick. Keep up the good work guys!!

Ball Speed: 17-18
Rev Rate: 425
Axis Tilt: 13°
Axis Rotation: 45°
Ball Layout: 50x6x65
After watching the video on the C System 2.5, I couldn’t wait to drill the ball.  I was not disappointed at all.  I drilled the ball and threw it that night in league for games 2 and 3.  I shot 257 and 300 with it.  Since then I have thrown a second 300 with it.  The ball gets down the lane very clean and makes a strong turn when it encounters friction.  The highly adjustable CFT coverstock allows this ball to match up on several patterns and bowler styles.  This is a must have ball for any bowler.

I drilled this ball with the pin over the fingers and the mass kicked just enough not to need a hole. I was really looking forward to throwing it  the night it was drilled. When practice started I threw other balls to warm up and then threw my first shot with the box finish and the ball went 60ft which really shocked me, I assumed it threw it bad so I made sure I really took my time on the next shot and got the same result? Confused I went to my bag and grabbed a 2000 pad and hit the cover. My next shot picked up early but still didn't give me the tilt downlane I expected. I left it sit around for about a month and then took the ball with me to nationals. I took this ball out at the journal and it was a totally different ball. This ball outhooked every other ball I tried by an arrow and it served it's purpose at the bowling stadium as well. So I put it to the test at the same bowling center I first threw it in and needless to say you couldn't pry this ball out of my hand now. It's the first ball I grab no matter what I'm about to bowl on. I had people that watched me throw it the first night ask me what I did to get it to hook so much. The ball is very clean through the front but turns left and don't stop off the end of the pattern. I strongly recommend this ball to all bowlers no matter your style. I am a high speed high rev guy but I've recommended this ball to fellow league bowlers that are tweeners and low rev guys and they thank me everytime they see me.

I was leery at first about buying this ball and the new chemistry friction technology. But after I threw this ball I promptly shut my mouth and have nothing but praise for this ball. I don't care that it was made in mexico, this is a great ball! I had this ball drilled to be a benchmark ball for me, my go to ball if u would. I have started AND ended a series with this ball moving 2 boards left with my feet. That's it. Shot 680 something that night. The ball reads gthe mids great and helps me determine if I need to go up or down in ball choice. Gets amazing and consistent length down lane and seems to ignore carrydown. I tend to play a tighter shot with this ball, but when I need to I can put it out there and open up the lane it doesn't fail me. I got this the same month I got my corner and get much more use outta this c system. Again, I don't care this ball was made in mexico, it is top quality in my book!

When i first heard about this ball I was excited to go drill this. Drilled it stacked pin up over the ring finger. I was extremely impressed how this ball got through the front part of the lane and was a smoother reaction off the dry. I used this ball on a lot of different patterns and really like what I see with it. I see that this ball is very useable after transition. I used this ball on the later shift league at West Acres Bowling center in Wichita, KS and this ball matches up really well to later shift league patterns. When looking for a ball that gets down lane and still needs some backend then  the C system 2.5 is a must.

Pin 4.5 from PAP (below ring finger), mb at 45 deg
This is one of the strongest pearls that I have ever thrown!  I get decent length through the heads out of the C System 2.5, a very strong midlane and continuation in the backends.  This is a ball which I found to be most effective with a little polish during transition as this ball will still charge through some unexpected carrydown.  Its strength at the breakpoint definitely desires more sideways angles and I have really liked it on the Scorpion pattern, although it has the chops to allow me to move deep and swing it on burnt up longer house patterns.

My biggest concern with this ball is that it does need sufficient oil in the first half of the lane so that it pushes far enough before it makes its strong move to the left.  I enjoy having this ball in my arsenal - its strong read of the midlane is great midblock as you migrate towards the centre of the lane.  I find that with this ball I require larger moves to the left than usual but by the same token it allows me to open up the lane more than any of my other equipment.

This ball is drilled RICO which for me puts the pin 5 and 1/4 inches from pap.  Surface at 2000 abralon.  The OOB surface just did not give me a reaction i wanted to see on my house pattern.  2000 abralon really made this ball come alive.  It takes to surface changes really well.  I added polish to it to play cheetah, and then took it back down to 2000 for viper.  I like to play a little swing without getting too deep inside and this ball fits right where i want it to.  It does overlap my absolute inferno also drilled rico.  I have found out that i cannot get real deep inside which is probably more of the drilling than the ball as the it will just not make a strong enough move to turn and hit the pocket.  Overall I think its a great product from Brunswick and I can't wait to get my hands on the 3.5 and 4.5 and another 2.5 with the pin up to make that corner.

Right Handed, Cranker style, I usually play between 3rd and 4th arrows, 16 mph speed
Surface - 500 grit Micropad, then 1000 grit Micropad, then 4000 grit Micropad
My PAP is 5 3/8" over and 7/8" up Dual Angle Drilling Layout - 45 Deg x 5" x 70 Deg which puts the pin below my ring finger and no weight hole

I wanted a ball that would start up sooner on heavier oil shots and continue through the pins.  What I got was a ball that has smooth arc and doesn't overreact when reaching the friction.  This ball clears the heads and gets into a roll nicely.  The CFT 2.5 coverstock is just strong enough to grab at the friction point and continue through the pins.  I am very pleased with this ball and is a great addition to the Brunswick line.  I have used this ball on multiple lane surfaces and it is a great reacting ball.

Bowler's Info:
Righty, cranker, inverted track
Revs about 400
MPH is about 18-19
PAP 4 1/2 to the right and 1/2 down

Layout info:
Pin under bridge, cg is kicked right down by the thumb, mass bass is 55 degrees.  No hole.

For me this really starting to be my benchmark ball.  Typically pearls don't give me a really good read, due to my speed.  What I am seeing from this ball, is good length, not having to force it.  Smooth mid-lane movement, and continuation through the pins, with a solid hit.  To me this ball does exactly what you put into it.  Once again this is what a benchmark ball does.  Gives you multiple looks on a variety of shots.

White pattern- The beginning of our season we started, this pattern was very tight, I am suspecting that they cut back on the length of it in recent weeks.  Seems to be opening up a lot sooner then it had been, being a little more forgiving.  As of late this ball started to shine due to the shorter length they have been using.  Typically I have been playing 15 to 5, and been able to sit almost in the same spot all night.  I have been lucky due to this ball, being inside of the straight players, and outside of the power guys.  So typically my shot holds up longer then most.

I am surprised that more people haven't used this ball.  From the ones I have seen out there, they roll really well and perform excellent.  Brunswick has really started to get there act straight.  They really never matched up too well with my game in the past but this is changing.   Before I knew it Brunswick as taken over my bags.  I certainly hope that they keep things up, because they are making some great pieces.

Also like to thank Brunswick for my last 300(11-12-10) Just wish I was smart enough to see that the transition was creeping up on me, so I could have gotten the 800.  Thank you Big B, and Brusnick for your input and equipment.

Surface: 500 micropad, then 4000 micro pad
Layout:
--------p
---------O-O

--------cg

-------mb-O

This is my first Brunswick ball since the BVP Punisher, so it's been a while.

Positives: Very strong movement off the backend, stronger than I thought overall, hitting power and continuation through the pins is great, decent pin action.

Negatives: Struggles with carrydown, but it is a pearl, can be a little inconsistant off the spot.

Overall: A nice piece that fits in my arsenal very well, honestly it's not the first ball out of my bag, but I'm sure glad I have it, because when the conditions are right and it's called upon, it performs well.

Drill:

Pin placed on the cebnterline above the fingers. MB 2" right of the centerline. Cover left OOB.

Bowler:

Mdedium High rev rate. 15-16 MPH

Condition:

House shot

This ball was clean through the heads with great mid lane and back end reaction. Not as skid flippy as most balls in its hook range with great drive through the pins. First four shots with this ball I almost left 3 - 7 9 splits. No deflection in the pin deck. Shot 796 with a 271 in the first week of having this ball. (271 i dropped it in the 6th frame and took out the 10 pin)
