The Brunswick Ethos Hybrid is a dynamic addition to your bowling ball arsenal. Designed to fill gaps with its dull hybrid cover, the Ethos Hybrid excels in creating strong overall motion on the lanes. With a 2000-grit Savy Hook and Cohesion finish, it thrives in oil, delivering a consistent, powerful reaction without burning up early. The HK22 coverstock incorporates advanced nano micellular phase separation technology, enhancing color and clarity while improving the cover’s translucency for an eye-catching appearance. Engineered for performance and durability, the Ethos Hybrid boasts Durability Optimization Technology (DOT)—a groundbreaking innovation that ensures long-lasting reliability. At its core, the ball features DynamiCore outer core technology, a durable material that minimizes compression on impact, increasing pin carry, power, and sound. Don’t overlook the Ethos Hybrid this season—it’s designed to take your game to the next level.

COMMENTS:

The Ethos Hybrid is the earlier hooking cousin to the original Ethos.  This one grabs the lane earlier than the original and works both on the fresh and on the breakdown.  The cohesion additive really adds to the utility and the predictable nature of this ball.  The Ethos Hybrid is a great first ball out of the bag as it handles oil well, blends the wed dry, and also handles carrydown well.  I found this ball to be perfect league ball and should find a spot in the bag for most styles.  The Ethos hybrid is an ideal benchmark ball.

Volume: Med-Heavy

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

COMMENTS

Likes: Strong, but smooth

Dislikes: None

The Ethos hybrid with a surface around 2000 is absolute heaven to use for me.  I did try it with less surface and didn't find it as versatile; too hard off the dry and too long in the oil.

The ball provides nice traction with a hard arc and phenomenal carry at 2000 grit surface.  Wonderful first ball out of the bag with a little more late movement than many asymmetric core balls in my experience. I waited until I had about 20 games on it to review, but the excitement remains.  Thanks, Brunswick!

Ball: Brunswick Ethos Hybrid
Coverstock: HK22C - SH 4.0 Hybrid
Core: Ethos
Factory Finish: 500, 2000 Siaair Micro Pad
Layout: 50 x 5 x 15

The Ethos Hybrid finds itself sitting nicely in the benchmark symmetric slot in my bag. I went with a pretty standard tall pin up layout on this one which provides nice length and plenty of backend on fresh patterns with a bit of friction. The Ethos hybrid also performs well as the ball down option when the lanes start to transition and you need that stronger dull hybrid symmetric option before it’s time for the extra length a Vaporize or Ivory Rhino provides.

This is a great option if you want a step down from the big core/big cover Mesmerize and Mindset balls of the world.
