LANE CONDITION

Length:41

Volume: Medium

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

COMMENTS

Likes: Length and fast response to friction.

Dislikes:

This is the type of reaction that many bowlers covet on house shots.  If I play the edge of the pattern going straighter through the heads it holds the line UNTIL it exits the pattern, then "left turn Clyde" it goes.

Where it seems to really shine for me is when I swing it out to the friction and open the angles more because it can really cross some boards late. Miss area outside is definitely among the best balls I've used in years.

If you like the skid/snap motion give the Intense Mindset a look.

Ball: Brunswick Intense Mindset
Coverstock: HK22 - Evolution Pearl
Core: Mindset
Factory Finish: 500, 1000, 1500 Siaair / Crown Factory Compound
Layout: 50 x 4 x 15

The original Mindset is one of my favorite control high end asymmetrical balls. I go to it when I need hook in oil or control on tougher patterns. The Intense has the HK 22 Evolution Pearl which provides easy length and pop on the backend making it a nice complement to the Mindset. It does not lack in the hook department at all. I love that it has the control characteristic from the Mindset on tougher patterns while still having the clean/sharp motion you need as the pattern transitions and the bowler migrates inside.  If you want a higher end hook potential ball but favor length and backend over early hook and control, give this one a look.
