- Description: Propel Pearl Coverstock: Propel Pearl is an evolutionary coverstock developed by Brunswick to improve the mid-lane and backend traction of the ball on today''''s slicker oils and lane surfaces. The Propel Pearl coverstock was discovered through testing of new formulation additives and process changes in coverstock manufacturing.
MACE Core: Mechanical Asymmetric Core Engineering. The MACE core has three major benefits: ultra-low RG core system to engage the Propel Pearl coverstock, high RG differential to aid in traction through heavy oil and high RG asymmetric differential to quicken the response time to friction. Designed as a two-component elliptical core system, the MACE core is dynamically the strongest asymmetric core ever produced for a Brunswick ball.
Ball Motion: The Evil Siege unites the Propel Pearl coverstock and the proven MACE core to produce a ball motion that is strong in the mid-land and aggressive on the backend. The Evil Siege is the ball when your game needs help battling medium to oily conditions and poor pin action.
Reaction Setup: The Evil Siege can be drilled using the standard drilling techniques developed for asymmetric bowling balls.
Lightweight Engineering: The unique core shape of each Brunswick ball is used for weights from 14 to 16 pounds. This approach to lightweight ball engineering provides bowlers with consistent ball reaction characteristics across the weight range. The same drilling instructions can be used for 12- and 13-pound balls. This is because Brunswick uses a generic core shape with an RG difference that is close enough to the 14-16 pound shape.

Ball Name - Evil Siege

Bowler Specs

Right Handed
Tweener
15 MPH
4000 Polished Surface

Description - The Evil Siege introduces Propel Pearl Coverstock.  Along with the MACE core from the orignal Siege, The Evil Siege will give you a go-to option when the lanes start to break down and your Siege hooks to early.

Drilling - I drilled this ball using the dual angle layout technique 60 x 5 x 45 with a small weight hole on the axis.

Reaction - This ball was very easy to control.  Since I polished the cover, it was simply a breeze.  Recovery was never an issue as this ball came off the spot quickly and consistently every time.  The hits kept the pins low with very little deflection.

Overall - The Evil Siege will be a very controllable and consistently reacting ball time after time.  Another winner from Brunswick.

Thanks goes out to Billy O, new product rep Brian Bever and all the good folks at Brunswick.

Evil Siege:

4" pin with 3 1/2 oz. top weight

I drilled my Evil Siege with the pin approx. 1 1/4" above my ring finger and the MB 2" left of my thumb. Shallow X-hole 5 1/2" from center of grip on line through CG. OOB finish.

The Evil Siege fits right between my C-system 2.5 and Python. It gives me easy length through the heads, a late mid-lane read and a smooth arc through the pin deck. I've found my best reaction with this ball and layout on medium oil/medium length patterns with clean backends. The Evil Siege gives me great control and carry on this type of pattern. Once carry down begins to occur I will typically be able to go to my Python and maintain my angles to the break point. My C-system 2.5 drilled with very similar layout will read the lane about 2-3' sooner and has a quicker response to friction.

Smooth is the best way to describe the Evil Siege. If you are looking for a ball to get through the heads and not dive at the backend then check out the Evil Siege. This ball looks great on the rack too with its pearlized black and dark red coloring.
As typical with all Brunswick equipment the combination of carry and control with this ball is outstanding.

Bowler Stats:
Right Handed
Speed:  17-18 mph on Qubica
Revs:  350-375
Rotation:  60 Degrees
PAP: 5 and 3/8 straight over

Lane Surfaces:
Thrown in at least 6 different houses with different surfaces.

Ball Layout:
Ball #1:
52 x 6 x 35 (pin over the bridge, mass bias next to thumb due to measurements based on pap)
Surface=OOB with polish
Weight hole: none needed

Ball #2:
60 x 5 ½ x 70 (pin under the bridge, mass bias roughly 1 ½ inches right of thumb due to measurements based on pap)
Surface=OOB
Weight hole: place on VAL, 2 ¾ below pap

Intended Purpose:
Ball #1: On medium, to medium-heavy conditions, I wanted a ball that was clean through the heads but that I could control the breakpoint with.  Having thrown the Siege, I thought that this ball would be great for this.  I assumed that with the pearl cover, and the hard rolling core of the Siege, that this ball would give more pop off of the spot, but that the core would help it control the breakpoint really well.

Ball #2: After throwing ball #1 for a couple of weeks (and not being able to pry it out of my hands in tournaments or leagues), I wanted a similar reaction, but I wanted it to be a little earlier and smoother.  Basically, I wanted to have a 1-2 punch with the same characteristics.  If ball #1 was going a little too long, I could throw ball #2 or vice versa.
Comments:

Carry –
Ball #1: The ball stores a lot of energy for the backend and sends the pins side to side very well.  The ball is continuous through the pins and has excellent carry.  There is little deflection as the ball enters the pins which is definitely a plus on most conditions and angles.

Ball #2: The ball is about 3-5 feet earlier than ball #1.  It does not store as much energy due to this fact, and it does not do as good of a job sending pins from side to side.  There is little deflection, but the hit is a little flatter than ball #1.  With that being said, it is still a great carrying piece on fresh conditions for me.

Likes –
Ball #1: This ball is phenomenal for me.  It is the ball that I use as a benchmark, or you can say it is the first ball out of my bag.  This ball is clean through the heads and it controls the breakpoint very well (which is what I had hoped when I drilled it up).  The ball is playable from multiple angles and it carries well from any angle that I have used it.  It is one of those balls that is an everything ball for me.  Carry is way above average, and it can handle varying amounts of oil.

Ball #2: This ball excels on fresher conditions or on conditions where even more control is needed.  It is great on tournament conditions due to how well it manages the breakpoint (this is side to side and front to back for me).  It has an aggressive roll to it, and carry is very good from outside angles.

Dislikes –
Ball #1: I don’t really have any problems with this ball.  It does almost everything I ask of it.  I notice track wear a little quicker than what I am used to with most Brunswick equipment.  This means a little more maintenance.

Ball #2: When I have to move in, this balls carry suffers a little.  Due to how hard it rolls, it is not as continuous as ball #1.  This does not allow me to use it very long for most blocks.  I notice track wear a little quicker than what I am used to with most Brunswick equipment.  This means a little more maintenance.

Overall: To me, this is the best ball out there right now.  It gives you almost everything that you can want from any one ball.  Drilling differences can really affect what you get with this ball.  That is noticeable even with the small pin to pap differences that I have between these two balls, but the angle difference definitely has something to do with this as well.  I truly feel that anyone that gives this ball a try will be happy with it, but make sure that your pro shop operator knows your game and what you are wanting from the ball.

Thanks for reading my review.

Ball Specs 15# Top weight 3.1 oz with a 3 - 4 inch pin.
Have the pin 1/2 inch above ring finger and a weight hole half way between the finger inserts and thumb slug.
I got this ball at a Pro-Am. I always had great luck with Brunswick. I was glad to try this ball out. I threw it on a typical house pattern. This ball wasn't as aggressive as I would expect it would be. This ball hit hard into the pocket with much pin action! I was really impressed with this ball! I am actually glad it was not too aggressive. The ball actually has some length until it cuts back into the pocket. The ball is very powerful and adds another winner for Brunswick in my book. I am looking forward to using this ball in league play and in tournaments. Another great ball Brunswick!

PIN 4" TO PAP-MADE MY TRIP TO NATIONALS LAST WEEKEND IN RENO. WELL I MADE THE SWITCH FROM A RIVAL BALL COMPANY TO BRUNSWICK LAST YEAR AND LET ME TELL YOU IT HAS PAID OFF TEN FOLD! AS I WAS SAYING NATIONALS, AS USUAL MYSELF BEING A HIGH REV PLAYER I MIGRATED INSIDE, AFTER A SLOW START AND SOME CORNER PINS. I NEEDED A BALL THAT CUT THROUGH THE MID LANE AND MADE A STRONG BITE ON THE BACK END, SO I GRABBED MY EVIL SIEGE AND AFTER THE FIRST SHOT AND THE REACTION I GOT THE LANES BEGAN TO FEEL COMFORTABLE AND I BEGAN TO RELAX. THE BALL REACTION I GOT WAS MUCH LIKE A REACTION ON ANY LEAGUE NIGHT! I STRUNG THE LAST 8 FOR 260 AND STARTED WITH THE FIRST 4 THE NEXT GAME..(YEP 12 IN A ROW IN TEAM EVENT AT NATIONALS)..ENDED UP WITH 233.. SO BALL CHANGE 493 LAST 2 GAMES IN  TEAM EVENT. THIS BALL ALSO BEGAN TO TURN HEADS AROUND ME I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MANY BOWLERS ASKED ME WHAT I WAS THROWING AND I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MANY GUESSED THE WRONG BALL..LOL! SO A LOT OF BOWLERS WERE VERY IMPRESSED AND ARE STARTING TO SEE THAT BRUNSWICK IS BACK! ALSO SINGLES AND DOUBLES I USED A C SYSTEM 3.5 AT 1000 SAAIR PAD..UP 12 TO 8..AFTER ABOUT 5 SHOTS GUESS WHAT YEP...HERE COMES THE EVIL SIEGE AND I PROGRESSIVELY MOVED LEFT OVER THE NEXT 5-6 FRAMES AND ENDED UP WHERE I WAS IN TEAM EVENT. SO I ENDED UP WITH 679 IN DOUBLES AND 691 IN SINGLES FOR ALL EVENTS-2039 ALL BECAUSE I MATCHED UP THIS YEAR BETTER THAN I EVER HAVE AND ITS ALL BECAUSE OF BRUNSWICK AND THE EQUIPMENT THEY ARE PRODUCING. IF ANYONE HAS ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS BALL OR ANY OTHER BRUNSWICK PRODUCT, PLEASE CONTACT ME AND I WILL GET BACK TO YOU ASAP.

I drilled this ball pin down with a hole. This ball seems to really get down the lane and finish strong. It doesn't over react off the spot but it does turn the corner nice and the carry is really good. This is a good ball to have in your arsenal if you are a tournament bowler and you need something that rolls well and doesn't over react at the end of the pattern. It is also a great ball to have for any league bowler who is looking for a new league ball.

Evil Siege

Bowler Information
Jimmie Gibson
Hand – Right
Style – Tweener
PAP - 5 5/8 right and 3/8 down

Layout
Pin above ring finger with mass bias places about 2” to the right of the thumb.

Expectations / Reaction
In the past Brunswick equipment has rolled early and hit like a wet waffle for me so when a friend insisted I try some of their new equipment I was skeptical at best. I put my benchmark layout on their high performance pearl and was prepared for the worst. From the first ball off my hand I couldn’t believe this was a Brunswick ball. It cleared the heads pretty well and then had a continuous arc down lane. I was able to move inside with this ball and open up while still retaining enough hitting power to snap out the ten pin. The ball shined when bowling on shorter patterns and opening up getting the ball right and arching off the gutter. A giant step in the right direction for Brunswick, I can’t wait to try one of their C-system releases.

LANE CONDITION

Length: Best use was on medium to short patterns

Volume: Best use was for medium to low volume

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): Used this on THS and some sport patterns.

Pin Placement: Pin is located with pin below the bridge and the CG is kicked slightly out.

COMMENTS

Likes: There are many things to like about the reaction this ball will give you. It is clean through the fronts and smooth through the breakpoint (The smoothness could be caused by my pin placement.) I really liked this ball straight out of box, but once I started to put some games on it, I noticed a lower sensitivity to friction (Which can be a good thing.)The ball started to get a lot smoother, which actually made my adjustments easier. From out of box until now, this ball has always read the mid lane very well and is a strong, continuous arcing motion through the pins. I think this is a must have ball from the Brunswick line. Not many Brunswick balls have reacted the way this one does.

Dislikes: Even though my adjustments became easier, my overall carry was decreased. The decrease in carry didn't really lower my scores that much, considering my consistency in the pocket was a lot higher because of the smoother reaction.

Likes:  Smooth through the front/mid, nice hard turn in the backend

Dislikes:   Tends to get a little touchy on the dry lanes, doesn't take well to very heavy oil

I am a full-roller, and this ball does well with me.  It rolls long, has a nice smooth (but hard) break in the backend.  Was my primary for a while, but has now taken a back seat to the Taboo.  Still a great utility ball, especially since the Taboo doesn't  work well on drier lanes.
