I just got this ball drilled up about two weeks ago.  I dont know much about pin layouts but this ball is drilled with the pin above my ring finger and the cg in the palm of my hand.  i dont know if its me, but i cant get this ball to react well for me consistently.  Usually it rolls out to early or overreacts and hits the pins brooklyn.  i think i just need to get used to the ball a little more.

15lb
105 degrees
1/2 neg, 0 finger

Good ball, no complaints, fits right in as an arc ball.  Lively pin action.

I think I'm gonna quit.  Practice practice practice then WHAAA??? ball is dead... learn a ball's characteristics then HUUUUHHHHH???? ball's a marshmellow...  Practice and bowl for twenty years then ARRGGHHHHH bowler with the cash or a sponsorship for a ton of new balls, but is also a good bowler, and he crushes me.  I'm caught in a spiral, UGHHHH I'm dizzy I'm going to bed, this games too expensive...

Hi Everyone!! How are everybody doing??? Well, this is my review for the Fuze Detonator. I got it drilled Brunswick Layout Sheet's 1L. And let me tell you this. This ball's hitting and carrying power is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! This ball is also EXTREMELY FORGIVING!!!!!!!!! Whenever I miss my strike target, I thought it would just go into the gutter. But it surprises me every time. It looks like the ball knows where the pocket is. When I send it wide and off target it rushes back to the pocket and punishes the pins!!!!!!! It sends a lot of messengers whenever it hits the pin. When I accidently throw the ball to the left it doesn't over react and it goes into the brooklyn and still give me a strike!!!!!!!!!!!! It's unbelievably controllable!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love my Fuze Detonator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are looking for a good ball, then look no further!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean with the hit, control, forgiveness, and power the Fuze Detonator possesses. It's impossible to not get at least a 200 when you are doing your stance and follow through correctly. Just remember, if you do your part (stance, pendulum swing, lift and follow through) then the ball will do it's job to help you knock all those pins down. Well good luck everyone!!!! Have a fantastic day!!!!!!!!! Peace!!!!!!!!

This is the most versatile ball in my lineup. It doesn't matter if the lanes are
flooded or if they are bone dry, this ball reacts the same. However this ball
tends to burn up energy fairly quick. I have this ball drilled with the pin under
the ring finger with the CG under that about three inches away.

Sweet!!!  Or as Kate S. used to say to me, Sweeeettt,
Oh Lucky so SWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTT! But that's another review!

On to the boring details that make this so SSWWWW, er um exciting!

Picked this heavier oil gem up from Liquid Hero, perfect specs, good price and fast shipping!!  And a lot of patience with me!  Pin out almost 4 and top weight 3 ounces!!

Laid on one of my new drillings that are becoming my favorites on this heavy load backend snapper and it is a 3 3/4 X 4 1/2 with the cg down about 1/2 inch below grip center and the pin up about an inch above ring finger and just a bit to the side.  Just slightly to the label side of stacked or about a 90 degree drilling.  This setup seems to give me the lefty troika, early read, lots of revs in the midlane and a stronger than arc look in the back with tons of punch and drive at the pocket.  Remember Mike Tyson at 21!

Note the particulars of this setup (long pin outs never worked for me before is the cg down).

This ball has a beautiful motor!  Seen it, thought it looked great and wonder what took me so long to own one!

Not really a true heaviest of oilers in my mind(but maybe it could be), but it is fairly straight in the heads and then, rev rev rev near the breakpoint, grab, charge!  There is no doubt where the pins are going.

I could see grabbing 3 of this core, putting this drilling on all 3 Detonator, Eliminator and Igniter and making some serious hay!  Thanks to this fantastic core.

I compared this ball to my Big hooking heads and backend Reaction Roll(drilled stacked 3 3/4), and this ball is about 3 to 4 boards straighter with foot placement(I attribute that to the higher rg core compared to the Roll)and has every bit of the same ability to turn the corner from inside and mash and trip out all 10.  Say the Roll was played 17 to 9 this ball was played 14 to 8 to strike).

Whether it is the strong motor or the dynamic top weight and pin position I don't know but this ball can bring it!

A great deal of space compared to my Walter Ray and Blade Pearl and this ball which I think I will narrow by applying some Black Magic or if I don't like I may try one of finer grit trizacts.

As to heavy oil when left out of box, This ball may actually work as one will be forced to tighten up much more immediately than say Reaction Roll which one may still try to loop in the heads.

Final is this ball can bring it!  It's immediately in the bag though I'm not sure if it is going to end up being more of an Eliminator with Polish or end up taking the heavy oil spot and then an Eliminator picked up!

Count me as impressed!  I love the motion of this core coupled with this drilling!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS saw a buddy of mine shoot about 789 with this drilling on this ball and I said hey I'll try that!  Agrees with me!

I really love this ball, it hooks, and is a good ball on lanes with a little oil on them. I recomend this ball to anyone looking for a real good ball. Drill it any size, and trust me this ball is good don't listen to any of those "bad" reviews, those people must have gotten a different ball???

THIS BALL ROCKS

ps. if you could give me some tips on how to through a good hook[half the time I can't get it to hook it just spins like a top] Email me at seaworthy_5@hotmail.com         Thanks MIKE

This ball is a great ball, compared to my colubia super beast, primal rage, and messager... this ball carries really good... creates powerful pin action.... great for oily lanes but on wood or anything that's near dry... you'll need a pearlize ball... pro actives tend to over hook as i know... but for a first time user from resin balls to particle balls... this ball is great... it's strong and hits hard..... i have to stand 2 spots from the left gutter for this ball.... so it hooks a hell of a lot but the way it comes in creates a lot of pin action.... i'm an off and on bowler ... i can bowl 200's on some days but i usually bowl in the 150's with this ball i can consistently bowl 170's .... increased from 2 strikes a game to 5... the way i release the ball now i need a plastic ball to convert the 10 pins, i haven't been able to convert all of the spares even using a pearlized super beast... if this would be my only ball i wouldn't recommend it unless you're always bowling on medium to heavy oil.... ----by the way... the roll of this ball is very predictable... you'll know it'll definately come back---

Some balls just hit great no matter what you do to them.  The Detonator is one of them.  Remind you I'm just reviewing MY Detonator which may have different Pin and Tops than other Detonators. My first drill was a 1:30 with negative side weight.  It hit good on the right shot, otherwise it went long and snapped too late (probably due to the high top after drilling), but very good hit.

Second Drill, I added a 1 1/4 Hole in the middle of my span to take out all the top weight, the ball moved when it encountered dry then sat when it re-entered the oil quadrant and finished with a Smash similar to a marble hitting a National Park Redwood.  The pins laughed at me, I was humiliated.

Third Drill, Rev Leveraged, with the big hole filled I was not able to get back the top weight so I wasn't expecting miracles but the ball hit pretty good, it rolled early and finished pretty strong, definitely did not expect this.

So what did we learn today children? (Mr. Robinson in Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood...Eddie Murphy in SNL)  We learned that a Marshmellow is not always SOFT...and Turds are not always Brown...and that Osama is not Saddam... and that Michael is not Janet... and that a Democrat can speak in a Republican Event...and that it is wrong to be accused of taking drugs if you don't inhale...and that bowling should not be labeled a blue colored sport...at least not until blue colored workers get that second mortgage to buy thier Fall Season equipment.

My Dad gave me this ball because he is a cranker and it didn't work for him...so if you're a cranker you might want to think twice about this, but then again I'm not a cranker and my dad thinks that if a ball leaves a 7 or 10 pin that the ball sucks...Now how I feel about the ball: I love this ball. It's definitely the best ball I've ever thrown(i'm only 17 so i haven't owned too many balls but you get the point). I had a messenger before I got my detonator and this ball is far better. It's also very versatile. I usually stand on the 15th board and shoot at the 2nd arrow, but when the lanes are dry I can move over to around the 25-30th board, go at the 3rd arrow and the ball still hits hard and strikes. Or when ever i'm mad I don't even move and just start winging the ball down the lane and it still strikes. The ball is forgiving too, if i miss my mark a couple of boards to the right, it flares back nicely and still gets into the pocket, if i miss it a couple of boards to the left it'll stay right on line and not over hook, but when it does move over a little too much it will strike in the brooklyn pocket as well. I have a plastic ball to shoot the 10 pins and i've never really tried to go at 10 pins with it so i can't help you with that, but with how perfect this ball is i don't think there should be a problem with it...
Conclusion
This is a great ball, works great on all conditions unless the lanes are super super dry...then i get into some trouble trying to keep the ball under control. but other than that small problem, I can't think of anything bad to say about this ball.

Aside from being a black ball (which is my favorite color), this ball has been a "bomb", "C4", "dynamite", whatever...coz it really detonates the pins (not literally of course. So much for the creative review.

I'm not sure how my ball was drilled, I always tell the pro shop to give the ball maximum settings. Anyway, back when I was still bowling at 20 MPH ball speed, it already rocks! It really has that late vicious hook, making it good for lanes with a good back end. When I learned to slow down to 18 MPH ball speed, it even got better, having a steady back end finish, with me having plus or minus 2 boards allowance. The ball really rocks whether you are a smooth bowler or a power bowler like me.

It had few backdowns though...
It is steady at the back end...but not that steady.
If you have a lane with heavy oil on the sides and dry on the center, well...
...I'm not so sure...coz if I miss a board to the left, the ball snaps like crazy at the back end leaving me probably a 3-6-10, or any 3-6 combination, or worse, any 4-6 split combination.

Overall Rating:
I'd say it is a 9 out of 10.
Keypoints:
Great impact at break point.
Great hold for good back end lanes.
It's BLACK! (...just kidding...)
Good stable hook.
