Here is the new hi performance ball for DV8, the Intimidator. This ball offers the same core as the Instigator, the Assailant. The cover is the same base as the Instigator but with some hooking additive to cover more boards. The ball features the new DOT technologie to optimize the durability and also dynamicore for better carry.
The ball comes out of the box with a 500 2000 skip sanding technique and it allows the ball to be less affected with lane shine.
Because I knew this ball was a hooking monster and wanted to use it on multiple conditions, I went with a 60 x 4 3/4 x 40 drilling.
On the lane, the ball delivers exactly what I expected. The ball roll really hard in the midlane. Compared to the Instigator and Warrant I'm 2 boards left on the approach and 1 board left at the target meanly because of the heavy roll in the mid part of the lane. Last weekend I used it on the wtba Sydney (33') around 5th board and I bowled 700 even if the pattern was really hard play. I was able to miss inside and still get some hold. I was able to play that part of the lane and get some hold because the ball was reading the midlane before to come out of the pattern. When it begun to burn up, I was able to use the Warrant and play in the same area.
For people with higher ball speed, the surface can be adjusted and you'll be able to use that ball and get advantage of the backend motion.
To conclude, if you want to have a strong ball that rolls hard in the midlane, this ball is for you.
