C-System Maxxed Out
« on: June 26, 2012, 11:52:32 AM »

- Core Type : I-Block
- Coverstock: CFT maxxed-out Solid
- Color: Cobalt and Teal Solid All colors do vary somewhat from the picture shown.
- Factory Finish: 4000 grit Siaair Micro Pad finish
- A few tiny pit holes in the cover stock of the ball are normal
- RG max: 2.523
- RG min: 2.468
- RG diff: 0.055
- Hook Potential: 170 (Scale 10-200)
- Length: 110 (Scale 25-235)
- Typical Breakpoint Shape: 85 Smooth Arch (Scale Smooth Arc 10-Angular 100)
- Recommended Lane Condition: medium-oily to oily
- Description: The cobalt/teal solid C-System maxxed-out combines the new Ultra Low RG Dual Flip I-Block symmetrical core with our new C-System maxxed-out coverstock to create a strong and controllable hook motion that serves as the perfect complement to the C-System versa-max. The CFT maxxed-out coverstock maximizes the friction additives to strengthen the mid-lane grip and backend reaction for maximum control.
The new Ultra Low Dual Flip I – Block symmetrical core incorporates a top and bottom flip block over a centered mass. The centered mass creates stability while the dual flip blocks keep the core revving to the backend all the way through the pins for improved pin action.
With its 4000 grit Siaair Micro Pad finish, the C•(System) maxxed-out skids easily through the front, saving axis rotation for the backend with a strong continuous breakpoint. The C•(System) maxxed-out is best used on fresh and wet/dry lane conditions where control is needed on medium-oily to oily lane patterns.
The C•(System) maxxed-out can be drilled using the standard drilling techniques developed for symmetric bowling balls.
At Brunswick, the unique core shape of each individual ball is used for weights from 14 to 16 pounds. This approach to lightweight ball engineering provides bowlers with consistent ball reaction characteristics across this weight range. At 12 and 13 pounds, Brunswick uses a generic core shape with a RGdifferential that is close enough to the 14 to 16 pound shape so the same drilling instructions can be used.

LANE CONDITION

Length:41ft

Volume:n/a

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):typical house shot

COMMENTS

Likes:This ball is a very good compliment to the Versa-Max and will help the bowler when the lanes have a larger than usual volume of oil or the pattern is a little bit to long for the Versa-Max. This ball is very good through the midlanes and very clean through the heads. This ball i found is about 2-3 boards stronger than my similarly drilled Versa-Max and about 5 boards stronger than my pin down Versa-Max. This ball, although with more backend, is still very predictable but with a sharper and more powerful move toward the pocket than the Versa-Max. This ball stores the energy to go through the pins and carry the light hits when shots are sent wide of target. All-in-all this is a very good benchmark ball for any bowler looking for predictability on the lanes.

this ball is needed for heavier patterns otherwise it burns up and out quickly. i would recommend this ball on synthetic if you are bowling on older resurfaced wood forget it not going to help u. its the most inconsistent piece I own but that me it might work for you!

DRILL PATTERN

Dual Angle Layout: 60 x 4" x 30 (pin above ring finger)

X Hole (if there is one): On PAP

BOWLER STYLE

Rev Rate: ~300-350 revs

Ball Speed: 18.5 - 19 mph

PAP/Track: 5.75" right and 1" up

Axis Rotation: varies (mostly between 0*-30*)

SURFACE PREP

OOB: 4000 grit

LANE CONDITION

Length: 41 ft

Volume: N/A

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):  THS

Wood Lanes

BALL REACTION

The new Maxxed-Out is very versatile and will fit well into a variety of playing styles. I was able to play up the boards staying behind the ball and move inside get more initial axis rotation.  The ball clears the heads with ease, reads the midlane well, and has a strong, continuous backend motion with no or very little deflection.  The Maxxed-Out reminds me of my Alpha-Max, carrying light hits, i.e. taking out the 5-7's or those flat 10's. This ball was great on a fresh house shot and still strong when the heads loosen up.  The Maxxed-Out is not a skid/snap ball but the ball will read the midlane and set.

COMMENTS

COMPARISONS

I compared this ball with: Nexxus, Nexus Solid, and Versa-Max (all with similar layouts). The Maxxed-Out is the go to ball when the Nexxus f(P+R)and Nexus f(P+F) are too strong off the friction an leaving those pesky ringing 10's and the Versa-Max goes to long, coming in behind the head pin. The Maxxed-Out transitions into the roll phase seamlessly from the midlane when the lanes are a little burnt up. This ball will let me in stay in track area longer and keep a direct line to the pocket. This ball fits in between the either Nexus Solids (Nexus or Nexxus) and the Versa-Max.

Likes: The Maxxed-Out is definitely a benchmark ball and is versatile.

Dislikes: None so far.

Great compliment to the vesa-maxx, When the versa is begining to labor getting around the corner/or breakpoint this is the go to ball with the core being enlarged 25% it gives you the early reading on the lane that you need to get the ball to the pocket and it's carry power is very good. Still smooth like the versa maxx yet when you need the early read on heavier oil this is the piece if the versa can't. Layout for me 45x4x60
Likes:
Great compliment to the Versa Maxx, Very predictable ball reaction Strong yet Smooth and continous.
Dislikes:
Not a good piece when the break down starts.

COMMENTS

Since this ball is a step up from the Versa Max, i opted to use the same layout as my Versa Max, only utilizing a slightly higher flaring pin position, and when I say slightly I really mean it, as it was only 1/4" stronger.

The Maxxed Out really serves it's purpose. While I love to use my Versa Max anytime I can, it's just not enough sometimes on the fresh with it's super clean cover, so the Maxxed Out fills that void. It's really a pretty simple idea; same reaction with more hook.

On the 41' USBC White Pattern, the maxxed out is roughly 6-3 stronger than my Versa Max. The motion is nearly identical. It doesn't get much better than that when going through transition. Even though this ball is stronger than the versa, it doesn't limit your ability to steepen your angles. Since our 41' White pattern plays fairly slick and most people play further right to start, this allows me to use this ball all 3 games of league night without having to switch to the Versa. On a condition that breaks down quicker and requires faster moves inside, I then have the ability to go to the Versa if the Maxxed Out quits hooking. Although I have not encountered that problem, I definitely look forward to that option come tournament time.

While I thought the Versa Max fit that "first out of the bag" spot for me, The Maxxed Out has one-upped it. It is definitely my new benchmark ball and I'm sure many league and tournament bowlers will be saying the same thing in no time.

16# 3-4 pin with a top weight of 2.8

I love the Versa Max, so I decided to drill the Maxxed out identical.  The pin ended up above my middle finger with the cg straight down a little negative.  No hole was needed.  I kept it OOB.

Comparing it to the Versa Max, I would say its a good 3-4 boards stronger.  Its backend is slightly more angular for me, but still has that smooth predictable motion that the Versa Max was known for.  When I using my Versa max and I notice some carry down, I can just take out the Maxxed out and play exactly where I finished with the Versa.

Maxxed Out OOB Finish
5" pin to PAP, above fingers, 40 degree MB

Kegel Autobahn 42'

After using this ball for a few weeks, this is a great ball for on the fresh. Each week I used it for the first game. When I started to see it burn up a little I would ball down to the versa max.  The cover is very strong compared to the original black versa max, which makes this a good two ball combo.

I like the fact that the differential is high on this ball and I can utilize longer pin positions. This drilling does give me enough pop on the back end to carry on the fresh, and a little area to the right.

This ball will for sure come with me to every tourney, and will be first out of the bag on medium/long conditions.

COMMENTS

Likes: Strong arc type roll

Dislikes: None

The maxxed-out is a great compliment to the versa-max. The maxxed-out is a stronger ball that can handle the heavier oil conditions. It reads the midlane and starts up a little sooner than the versa-max with a continous roll, approximately 4 boards stronger. With the box 4000 surface on the solid coverstock, it cuts through the oil and continues downlane. I have taken it to 2000, and it didn't over react even with my higher rev rate. I have this ball drilled to be my heavy oil ball and it hasn't dissapointed me yet. I can use this ball on house shots or kegel oil patterns. Also, I can use this ball to open up the lane and keep moving left to chase the oil. If you are looking for a heavier oil condition ball, then the maxxed-out is a great choice.

COMMENTS

Likes:  Revs hard and rolls heavy, great on fresh THS

Dislikes:  Can labor a little on longer patterns or where there is less friction on the lane surface.

This is my benchmark league ball for longer and heavier THS.  Drilled 55x5x30 with no hole.  The Maxxed Out allows me to play near the friction on the outside.  It reads the mids really well, revs up hard and has a heavy roll with good continuation.  This ball also offers me control on medium length conditions where there is a lot of friction outside and in the backends.  It reads well and doesn't over react off the spot, giving me a smooth transition and a heavy rolling arc to the pocket.

COMMENTS

Likes: Very quick revving, very strong hitting and very versatile cover. Great ball for a spinner release or Bowler looking for a smooth arcing motion.

Dislikes: Out of the box for me, the ball was very over/under. Over hooked with it hit friction and under hooked when it hit the oil line. Could have been the condition I bowled on. Sanded the ball to 2000 and WOW, what a difference it made. Under over was gone and man does this ball hit. One of the hardest hitting balls I seen come from Brunswick.

The C-System Maxxed Out is a solid/sanded version of the highly successful C-System Versa Max.

I was very excited for this ball as I had a lot of success with the Versa Max, however it tended to be a little skidish on oily lanes.

I drilled two C-System Maxxed Outs:
#1 - Pin Down 3 3/8/ x 45
#2 - Pin Up 5 x 60

Both balls gave me a good “benchmark” ball reaction for oily conditions.  The pin down ball was very easy to read the entire length of the lane.  The ball cleared the front part of the lane very easily, picked up in the mid-lane, and provided a strong arcing and controllable ball reaction.  The pin up Maxxed Out gave me a similar ball reaction however because of the additional pin distance it got down the lane further and seemed to break harder on the backend.

The pin down Maxxed Out was compared to a Versa Max that I’ve fallen in love with.  This Maxxed Out soon became my new “love.”  I had the Maxxed Out 4 boards left with my feet and 2 boards with my eyes.

Strengths - The roll on this ball was the strength of this ball.  It was very predictable for a strong ball. For me this ball worked well on several patterns.  Maybe it is because this ball matched up well with me but seemed like this ball carried everything!

Weakness – Only the obvious was the weakness of this ball.  Ball seemed to labor and burn out on dry conditions.

Pattern tested on: 38ft house shot
Volume: n/a
Drilling pattern: 4 x 4 off of PAP weight hole on PAP
75 degree layout
Surface: box finish

The ball rolls extremely smooth! Clears the heads very well, with a smooth read through the mid-lane, and has a good continuing motion on the back ends.
This would be a good ball to start with on fresh patterns because the ball reads the mid lane very nicely. It is a good compliment to the versa-max.
This ball has very good energy transfer to the pins as well, it hits very nicely and again, when it hits the pins it really drives through them!

I would recommend this ball for anyone! Especially if your looking for that medium to heavy oil range in your arsenal!

Bowler: Tweener, 16.5 mph, medium revs, 215 average, 20+ years experience

COMMENTS

Likes: Consistent, smooth backend

Dislikes: ...yet weak backend; I cannot rely on this ball to pick up the 3-6-9-10 spare compared to all my other equipment

Got this ball during a clearance sale at my local pro shop. Drilled it with the pin up and right of the ring finger with the CG near my center of grip to have a strong layout with smooth consistent backend.

I was honestly disappointed at first with this ball/layout combo because it was very weak going into the pocket. Many ringing/flat 10's, and the 5 pin makes a lot of cameo appearances. I could not play anywhere inside with this ball. However, I got used to this ball and I use it when I employ the "straighter is greater" approach when the lanes are very tricky. I use this ball starting at the 10 board shooting it to the 2nd arrow and keeping the hand behind the ball. Crushes the pindeck when I hit the pocket, and light shots make the pins dance around and scatter. Carry not so much a problem with this shot since I can get a better angle of entry with this shot.
