I love my original Method as my benchmark ball and went 45x4.5x30 (pin over ring) to compliment a similar out of my Solid when encountering fresh oil.
Out of the box, the Method Solid was a tank. I couldn't get it far enough down the lane without having to swing my angles open, so a quick trip to the spinner with a tiny squirt of polish got the ball to read in the correct spot and play a little closer to the hybrid.
Our Challenge league is currently on 41' Beaten Path which plays very similar in length and volume to our THS, but with less margin for error. The Method Solid has been my go to on fresh, giving me the traction I need when getting the ball to the right, but without the sharp back end that I am seeing from most other balls in my bag while the back ends are still crisp. Ideally, this ball ends up back in my bag sometime during game 2 and I can transition to my original Method for more length and response down the lane to carry the corners.
In terms of shape, the Method Solid is even rolling and smooth off the back end, helping me maximize my pocket %. This ball seems to round the corner a little better than my Magnitude 055, which would be quicker to roll forward once it hit friction. Compared to other balls in my bag, it is at least a step sooner than my original Method, but a step below my Kingpin Rule.
I recommend the Method Solid for bowlers looking for traction and control on tricky fresh patterns such as those seen at Nationals. Those who spin the ball will be happy to see their ball pick up sooner and not go sideways, while bowlers looking for the strength of a high end ball, but with a symmetric core will be very happy with the Method Solid.
