Drilled my Knockout strong (45x4.25x25) as I really wanted a big symmetric ball in my bag for when tournaments return.  I have always preferred symmetric balls for the way they smoothly transition down the lane and having liked a number of balls with the Melee core, I was really looking forward to this ball!

The Knockout did not disappoint!  It gave me more hook than expected and really corned well down lane - especially for a solid.  The best way to describe what this ball does is the strengh of the Melee Hook with the Purple Edge ball motion!
I have so far used it on our house pattern, 41' Beaten Path and one of the Weber Cup patterns and have liked what I have seen.  I have had some success keeping my speed up in the track, but my look got better as I moved in to the 3rd and 4th arrows.  The big sweeping arc was easy to control by tinkering with my hand and as the pattern dried out I was able to amp up my speed but still see the ball finish on the back end.

Compared to other balls in my bag the Knockout is a few feet earlier than the Melee Jab Blood Red with the same strong move on the back end.  The Knockout started up just a pinch later than my Hero Solid but had a stronger, more continuous move on the backend.  In terms of ball motion in my current bag it closest compares to my Omni Solid (but a tad weaker).

I recommend the Knockout for bowlers of all styles on medium oiled conditions.  This is a very versatile piece that could serve as the benchmark type ball for rollier players or as an upper end piece for those who are softer with their speed/rev dominant.

I know this seems very cliché but this ball really is a Knock Out. I drilled mine my favorite symmetrical layout of 4 x 30 It is a nice benchmark symmetrical that gets down lane without much effort and is strong off the spot and hits hard. I think this is going to be a small step down from my Bonus solid and a little earlier than my Bonus Pearl. It fits nicely in there. If you a fan of striking get one of these.

First of all, this ball is all black which is my favorite color to throw.  For a mid-price line ball this ball is versatile strong and has a great reaction shape.  It is fairly clean through the front, picks up in the midlane, and still has a strong reaction in the end.  This ball would work for league and tougher oil patterns, this is a great benchmark ball to have in your bag.  I would recommend using this on medium to heavy oil patterns.  I always feel the solid black bowling balls roll better and read the lane better than any other color.

Likes: The Knock Out is easy to get through the fronts, picks up well in the midlane and is very continuous in the backend.  Really blends out patterns well allowing me to keep the ball more in front of me yet has nice shape while swinging it as the block goes on.

The Knockout is exactly that! Brunswick got it right with this ball as this ball gives me versatility. This bowling ball is strong, angular, and continuous all in one. I can play the lane by keeping my angles in front of me or I can open up the lane and swing the ball without any loss in performance or hitting power. The layout I have on the ball is 65 x 4.5 x 30. This is a great ball for your league bowlers and perfect for tournament play.

This is rather versatile ball for myself and others. I have certainly found that with a fresh cover, it’ll definitely give sound control to tame down lane conditions. The cover does tend to build up oil faster than I’ve seen with others, so if that’s what you’re looking for, be sure to wipe it down regularly and to scuff the surface.

I personally prefer to use the ball for the backend motion I see with it. It has a knack for turning the corner well for me with a little lane shine. I do try to keep it pretty clean, but I don’t usually scuff the surface.

The Brunswick Knock Out is the quintessential benchmark piece for my arsenal. It feels like an incredible match-up of core and cover, with both parts working in unison. With use, I can attest that it fits the pedigree of being an all-black Brunswick bowling ball. Getting into the ball motion, the breakpoint shape is very continuous, with a medium response time to friction. I let the ball lane shine a bit from use and freshen the surface up with a 3000-grit pad when needed. This surface finish makes the ball a touch more continuous down lane for me, and a little better front to back reaction on the higher friction lane surfaces I see in this area. When I compare it other pieces of my arsenal: The Knock Out is a couple of boards weaker than the Obsession Tour Solid with a more continuous breakpoint shape, couple boards stronger than my Web Tour Hybrid with a similar response to friction, and is the first ball out of my bag everywhere I go.
