The easiest way to describe my ball reaction with the Kingpin Max is snow tires.  This ball gives me that 4 wheel drive reaction through the heaviest of oils with a controllable rounded motion down the lane that is ideal for fresh HEAVY oil conditions.  I personally love early rolling equipment as I have a tilt/roll that naturally pushes well down the lane and is very responsive to friction.

The slickest house in town uses Anvilane with a Flex Machine + Ice oil and with challenge patterns is tough to create the correct shapes as most balls want to push too far down the lane.  We are currently on 41' Tower of Pisa (which is a high volume pattern) and the Kingpin Max has given me the kind of roll and early recovery to give me room even when the track is flooded.  As the league session goes on, I can open the lane up by getting my hand around the ball for a little while before it is time to swap to something a little cleaner through the fronts (lately it has been my pin down Tremendous or original Kingpin).

On our house shot (42' Stone Street) I have had a great look on fresh these past couple of weeks.  I start further into the puddle around the 3 arrow and can trust this ball right without much concern about over reaction.  What I like most about the Kingpin Max (especially with this layout) is how controlled it is off the friction keeping me in the pocket on balls that I either hit or get into the dry early.

The Kingpin is the earliest rolling ball in my arsenal and can handle the most oil in the heads/mid lane.  When balling down to my Tremendous or original Kingpin, I typically move 3 boards right with my feet and am able to back off on the axis rotation.  The last time I have seen a ball hook this much compared to anything else in my bag would be the Endless Nightmare (which was far more hook/set than the Max).

As great as this ball has been for me, it has its kryptonite:  dry lanes.  The Kingpin Max has given me amazing looks in practice and through the first game or 2 in that slick house, but after that the ball either starts picking up too early for flat 10's or forces me to move too far left trying to work my hand too far around the ball to be playing the pattern ideally.  Use the Kingpin Max exclusively on the slickest of oil patterns and it will be a very welcome addition to your bag!

This is a great advancement to the King Pin line.  I was at first expecting this to be the same ball but boy was I wrong.  The Max is a flippy King Pin.  I love using the original King Pin on oily lanes and flatter patterns because it is so smooth and predictable.  Its a great up and at em ball.  The Max comes into the picture when I need to open up the lane or play left on a long oily pattern and need the ball to cover a few boards in a short amount of time.  This is what the definition of a high end bowling ball should be.

The Kingpin Max is simply a superb bowling ball.  Its performance on long and/or heavy oil is unmatched in the Brunswick family line.  Mine is drilled pin above ring finger and used out of box surface.  I used this ball in sport league on 52' Badger and it really performed.  Carry was terrific and ball reaction aggressive but predictable.  Can't say enough good things about it.  Longer and move aggressive than the original Kingpin.

Do beware of a couple of things, this is probably not an all-condition ball unless it's shined or if you have a lot of ball speed.  For a medium rev, low speed player like me it needs to see oil, but it really works well on conditions where you wish you'd like to see more shape.  Also, like most all modern balls, it will lane shine over time, so taking a 1000 or 1500 pad to it on occasion will keep it fresh and performing at it's finest.
