The Brunswick Melee Jab Blood Red combines the Melee Low RG symmetrical core with the Savvy Hook 2.0 Pearl Reactive coverstock. This combination provides an ideal ball motion on medium oiled lanes for different style bowlers. This ball provides medium length by skidding through the fronts with a strong mid-lane rotation and a powerful backend reaction. The chemically designed surface of the ball provides more traction for a pearl ball on medium to oily lanes.

Drilled 45x4.5x45
Ball has a smooth overall continuous motion thru every phase of the shot.
Hard hitting and solid drive thru the pins
Great for any lane conditions you can roll this ball on

The Melee Jab Blood Red is basically a new take on an old favorite.  This is a red version of the popular Melee Jab SE.  I also have a Jab SE with a similar layout.  With the same surfaces I find this ball to be almost identical in motion with a more rounded shape at the breakpoint.  Overall, it is that same predictable continuous Jab motion that made the first Melee Jab so popular.  This ball will be playable for most styles and should work on most moderate conditions with friction present.  This could be a great benchmark pearl ball.  If you missed out on the first two make sure you catch this one.

The Melee Blood Red is extremely clean through the front of the lane, with plenty of respone and angle off the breakpoint.  Mine is drilled 4 1/4  X 25.  As soon as I see the pattern start to transition,  I am able to move to the Blood Red.  Giving me plenty of clean length down the lane with a strong move on the back, while continuing its strong move through the pins.  This is definitely a must have in your bag.

The Melee Jab Blood Red is a perfect follow-up to the earlier Melee Jab balls from Brunswick.  This ball is not only attractive, it performs as well as any symmetrical for medium to lower volume conditions.  It moves off the spot as if it had a much stronger core than it actually has.  I have used this ball on short to medium sport patterns and on league patterns when the heads start to go.  It retains energy until just the right time.  This ball won't hook as much as many on the market but it will hit just as hard and provide control on demanding conditions.

My layout has the pin above and to the right of the ring finger and as a lower track bowler this matches up well for me.  I'm sure you will find the perfect layout for your game and this extremely versatile ball.  Stick with a proven performer the next time you're in the market for a ball, select the Melee Jab Blood Red.

The Melee Jab Blood Red is a must if you love the Melee Jab SE.  The Blood Red to me reads the midlane about 2 feet sooner but has a more smooth arcing motion than the SE.  The Blood Red is a outstanding benchmark ball if you are looking strong symmetrical piece to add to your arsenal.

The Melee Jab was one of the best Brunswick balls ever made. The new Melee Jab Blood Red pearl is an updated version using the same core and cover stock as the Melee Jab SE but with Dynamicore, this ball hits like a truck.

Given its pearl coverstock, this ball is going to be very clean through the front. However, this ball is going to have a strong backend reaction once it exits the oil pattern. This ball is great when you want to get through the heads and midlane, but not sacrifice backend reaction. As a medium rev player, this ball is a must in my bag because I know it won’t lose energy on a burned up pattern.

Likes: The good match between core and cover

Dislikes:None so far, but it’s still early

PICTURES AND/OR VIDEOS

Looking for something to compliment my classic black quantum, and had not tried anything with this core in it. After hearing all the good stuff from this core in virtually all its iterations, I talked my wife into an early Christmas!

 Actually have two black quantum’s, one 5.25 X 3, and one short pin to pap at 2 X 5, and a pin up rhino 5.75 X 4.

Wanted something to fit between the quantum’s and the rhino, so we went 80 X 5 X 80. Ended up pin down, cg close to thumb 5 X 5.25.

This ball is good. Not just because I say so, but because of the characteristics it has due to the core/cover match. It is clean enough through the heads that it will get through until they get kind of burnt out, but responsive and strong enough to chase the oil line in as you move in deeper. It has plenty of “pop” at the breakpoint without giving you that “somebody kicked it left” look, and seemed to exhibit above average pin carry.

And, it fits almost perfectly between the stronger quantum’s and the weaker rhino, while being both strong enough I could use it instead of the quantum unless it was flooded, and clean enough I could use it all the way until the rhino became a necessity.

Looking for that one ball that’s versatile enough you might be able to use it all night? If so, you might want to give this one a look. Worked well on the fresh, worked well in the middle game, and could still get to the pocket at the end of the night.

Shot 240-222-266 right out of the box with it, and I hardly ever do that with a brand new ball.
Learn to laugh, and love, and smile, cause we’re only here for a little while.

Likes:  Brunswick has come up with another winner in the Melee Jab Blood Red. This ball has a strong down lane motion that is more rounded than jumpy. It is very similar to the Uppercut in motion but picks up just a little sooner. This will actually take the place of my Uppercut in the arsenal as mine has a ton of games on it. This cover is clean through the front part of the lane and well into the mid lane. I see it being a house shot killer and will work well in tournament play as Solids start to read to soon.

Layout 60 by 5 by 30

Surface: 4000-grit

The Brunswick Melee Jab Blood Red is a great step down from my Knock out when the pattern begins to blow up. It seems like any time that Melee Jab is engraved on a ball, that it is going to be something special. I love single-colored bowling balls and this deep, red pearl is very appealing to my eye as the ball goes down the lane. The out-of-box surface is a bit too sensitive in the front to back reaction for my taste, so I hit it with a fresh 4k pad to knock some of the shine off. It still glides through the fronts at this surface and has a medium to quick response to the friction. When compared to other shiny pieces in my bag, it is a step left from the Stinger Pearl, it is about a 3-2 right from the Aero Dynamix.
