The Brunswick U-Motion Solid Urethane mid-performance ball endured lots of testing because Brunswick knows the importance of a urethane ball. The U-Motion core has a higher RG and lower differential that produces great urethane ball motion. This ball generates a consistent and predictable urethane ball motions on various lane conditions but excels on lower volumes of oil and shorter patterns.

The U-Motion Urethane

As a bowler who grew up throwing urethane and a young kid, I can tell you this is not like your old urethane.  The U-Motion provides unbelievable continuation and hitting power that is second to none.  I’ve used it on a variety of oil conditions and I’m so impressed with its ability to stay to the lane, read it, and continue with strong hitting power through the pins.  I drilled mine 60 x 3 1/2 x 30.  With the raised RG and lowered differential from the True Motion, this is the ideal ball to have in your bag for all bowlers.  You do need friction on the lane, but this is easily the best urethane ball I’ve ever thrown.  Feel free to email me with any questions at troy_300_1999@yahoo.com.

The U-Motion, Brunswick's Newest Urethane is very smooth and has great hitting power like a Reactive Solid. Drilled 75 x 5 1/2 x 35. stacked label drilling, this ball fresh out of the box, keeps this ball on line through the heads and drives the pins straight back. This could be a Winner in the hands of any person who is just starting their First league. Great ball for typical house shots, and when the lanes breakdown during league play. Looking forward to using it on Short Challenge Patterns playing up the lane from an outside angle.
Looking for a Urethane for your bag, Get a U-Motion!

COMMENTS

I was really excited to throw the U-Motion and compare it to a few other Hammer/EBI balls that I have thrown in the past. The U-Motion really continues throughout the lane and really blends out the friction of over/under flatter lane patterns or wet/dry house shot patterns. Very impressed with the hard hitting power that it provides thru the pins. I do see that you need friction for this ball to really shine… For me, I see the U-Motion a little earlier in the fronts & mid-lanes yet still continues in the backends compared to my trusty Purple Hammer. I have adjusted the surface of the U-Motion and found that 3000 surface is perfect for what I have used and offers a great compliment to my Purple Hammer and Brunswick Phantom. The U-Motion would be a great ball for the heavier handed bowlers and for those needing a ball to blend out the flatter tournament lane patterns. Great addition to your arsenal. Get yours today!

Never being a fan of Urethane in the past, my eyes were truly opened with the Brunswick U-Motion.  This ball is unlike the urethane balls of old.  The U-Motion's solid urethane coverstock creates very true, predictable  and consistent motion down the lane.  What separates this urethane ball from others in my eyes is the carry.  With the addition of Dynamicore, this ball powers through the pin deck scattering the pins.  I found that the pins tended to stay lower increasing the number of "messenger" strikes.   I found the U-Motion particularly effective on shorter, more challenging patterns.  For those who do not want to use a plastic ball on spares, the U-Motion gives you a straighter option with little motion when needed.

The U-Motion is a release from Brunswick that combines the needed characteristics of a urethane ball in today's environment, with the motion to provide hitting power unlike previous urethane pieces.

I had thrown a True Motion in the past couple of years, this ball moves for me probably 3-4 boards more (with identical drillings) and the DynamiCore improves the carry percentage.  I feel like I have far more mistake area with this ball than I did with the True Motion.

For short sport patterns where you need a controllable reaction, or for wet/dry league conditions where you'd like to stay toward the outside of the lane as long as possible, this is your solution. It also adapts well to changes in surface, so if you feel you need to move the breakpoint forward or back, don't hesitate to break out your pads or polish.  If you need a urethane ball in your arsenal then the search goes no further, look for a U-Motion and you won't be disappointed.

The U Motion is the modern urethane reaction I have been waiting for from Brunswick.  It gives me some extra down lane motion I have not seen out of previous urethane balls.  The U Motion allows me to open my angles and still get the corner pins out.  Compared to the True Motion it is a few feet later and has 3 more boards of hook on the backend.  This one saw some use already on a shorter tournament pattern playing the gutter and will definitely see more in the future.  If your looking for urethane control with just a bit more backend pop check out the U Motion.

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

COMMENTS
The Brunswick U Motion is a great low volume/short pattern ball to have in your arsenal. Unfortunately, given the pandemic, I have not had an opportunity to use it on medium to heavier volumes, but on the drier conditions I have been able to use it on, it's provided me with some great controllable backend reaction. You can definitely see the predictable ball motion downlane and make adjustments when necessary. I drilled mine 55 x 4.5 x 20
