Python

- Coverstock: EnMotion - Reactive
- Color: Blue Pearl / Yellow Pearl
- Hardness: 76-78
- Factory Finish: High Gloss Polish
- Weight Block: Python Core
- RG max: 2.522
- RG min: 2.480
- RG diff: 0.042
- Average RG: 3.0 of 10
- Hook Potential: 115 (Scale 10-175)
- Length: 100 (Scale 25-235)
- Typical Breakpoint Shape: 70 Angular (Scale Smooth Arc 10-Angular 100)
- Flare Potential: 0.042 High (Scale Low 0.00-High 0.060)
- Description: Predictable power is the best way to describe the new Python. With a more direct line of attack on the lane, a fast revving core and constricting power on the pins, the Python provides a secure ball reaction at the Advanced Performance price point. For the bowler who wants to play straighter angles with predictable power, get a Python and squeeze the life out of your opponent. Technology EnMotion Coverstock: The Python is the first ball with EnMotion coverstock available at the Advanced Performance price point. The Python uses a Pearlized version of the EnMotion coverstock. EnMotion combines the best elements from our PowerKoil™, Activator® and N’Control™ coverstock systems. Low RG Core: The Python core uses an updated version of the Original Inferno®. However, the weight distribution between the inner core and outer core has been adjusted to raise the overall RG, so even with its aggressive EnMotion coverstock, the Python will clear the fronts, rev in the mid-lane and devour the pins with one big bite. High Gloss Polish: The Python is finished with Brunswick’s Factory Finish High Gloss Polish to maximize the skidsnap reaction out of the box. This surface preparation will allow most bowlers to match-up to freshly oiled and moderately broken down house conditions.

I layed this ball out with the pin 6 in from pap and the cg almost straight out. i wanted a ball to have wicked backend for when the lanes dry out. For me this turned out a great ball. it does exactly what i wanted it to do. i just didnt expect it to hit as hard as it does. this is by far the hardest hitting ball in my bag. i have thrown in on a few tourney shots and after 15 games on the shot it still worked great. i have also used it on our 39 foot house shot in about the 3d and 4th game of league but it just wasnt quite dry enough for it yet. i would strongly recommend this ball to anyone wanting a ball for medium lanes or late blocks in tourneys.

Just bought the python. The ball is great. Had mine drilled with the pin under my ring finger. what i wanted was a ball that gets into its roll early and has a long smooth arc. This ball does it. Pocket hits are hard with good carry. I find off pocket hits kinda soft. Anyways love this ball. In a nut shell its helped add 30 pins to my average.

Just drilled up a Python. PAP 4 inches from pin cg center grip 1/2 inch up.   Initially tested on a 2nd shift condition decent oil left over and moderate carry-down. I am more of a tweener with higher 17-19 mph speeds.  But can comfortably roll 16 mph shots when i absolutely must slow down.  Anyways I started practice with the Diamondback which absolutely destroys the pins from so many angles especially inside.  If I where to only have one ball that would be the one.

The Python with its highly polished surface was a bit indifferent to carry-down it is not that kind of ball with that cover prep.  I couldn't play it outside because it grabbed the drier outside boards and yanked left center using normal hand position.  Did not matter how hard I threw it.   I knew right away to knock the gloss off with a 4000 siaar pad.  Retested the ball and bingo just what the doctor ordered.  The ball immediately began tracking and hitting on the back-end.  It does exactly what the mfg says.  Had I started this ball on a fresh condition I imagine it would of been fine.  However if one posesses ball speed I recommend knocking off the high gloss.   Currently I roll a Diamondback-Python-Hammer Doom and Storm Natural.  But the Diamondback has taken most of the work.

I've been rolling the Python for about 2 months now and I have to say that this ball has received the most use of any ball that I currently own.
I have had limited success with Brunswick balls over the past two seasons. The Inferno line was a huge success for me but since then I have been unable to obtain the kind of reaction that I was looking for. Then came the Python....
I have mine drilled 55 X 4.75 X 70 (left handed). For me this puts the pin under and slightly right of the center of my bridge. The CG is swung out 45 degrees from my grip center and I have a good size weight hole 3 3/8" down from my PAP.

The ball motion is strong and smooth down lane. The continuation through the pin deck is outstanding. The ball faces up to the pocket and pin carry is above average. I get my best look from this piece on medium to medium dry conditions. It is an absolute beast on a fresh house pattern. Looks great on the rack too.

If you have avoided Brunswick lately I urge you to give them a look now. I think that you will be very pleased with the new releases.

I may not be the best bowler in the world or even smart enough to understand most of what i do, but the Python has majorly increased my game. I used to own an Inferno, but it wasn't giving me the reaction i needed and it wasn't as consistent every throw. The Python on the other hand gave me the right amount of catch and the right time in the lane and hit with the same beautiful power every time i throw the ball. My bowling average began at 115 and is now over three months gone up to a 190 average along with five of my first 200 games. If your looking for a ball to give you strength, consistency, and catch look to Brunswick and the Python.

Bowler Stats:
Right Handed
Speed:  17-18 mph on Qubica
Revs:  350-375
Rotation:  60 Degrees
PAP: 5 and 3/8 straight over

Lane Surfaces:
Thrown in at least 6 different houses with different surfaces.

Ball Layout:
38 x 4 3/4 x 68 (pin under the ring finger due to measurements based on pap)
Surface=OOB
Weight hole: placed on my axis

Intended Purpose:
I wanted a ball that was clean through the heads and could really open up angles on the backend.  I had drilled one of these in the past that fit this description (it was drilled to be more skid-flip and it definitely was) but it was over-under on most conditions.  I love this core, so I wanted to give this ball another chance, so I decided on a drilling that would be a little earlier and tried to take away a little bit on the backend.  I hoped that this drilling would be able counteract the rapid response to friction and how clean the coverstock is.

Comments:
Carry – The hit of this ball is exceptional.  Once again, this can be expected due to the use of a modified Inferno core.  Due to the higher RG, this core is easy revving and still has all kinds of energy when it enters the pins.  Anyone that has thrown an Inferno in the past can attest to the way that this weightblock can toss pins from side to side very well.  The Python is no exception same great carry with a little more energy.

Likes – This ball can open up angles on the lane extremely well. The cover is very clean and the combination with the core saves a lot of energy to turn the corner on the backend.  With simple hand adjustments, you can get a ball that opens up the lane to a ball that is great for going up the boards.  The ball still rolls heavy enough that it will still carry when you take hand out of the ball.  I think this ball is great for any house pattern.  It gives mistake room above and beyond what the house pattern already gives.

Dislikes –Due to the fact that this ball can go sideways on the backend, it can be a little addictive (even when it is not the right reaction to use).  The color scheme is great for shelf appeal, but it makes it a little more difficult for me to read the transition of the ball as it progresses down the lane (minor complaint really).  With how clean the coverstock is, the ball can be a little skittish on oil if you are not careful.  This can lead to some over-under in the reaction.

Overall: A good ball for tournament and league bowlers.  It is useable on many different conditions by almost any style of release.  Carry is above average.  For the price, this ball is unbelievable.  After throwing roughly 30 games, the cover is not showing much ware, and has only been wiped off and cleaned after every set.  This is a good ball for people with an arsenal and for people that only have one ball (due to its versatility).

Thanks for reading my review.

I got this ball with a 6" pin and it's not laid out super strong. This ball was layed out and selected to give me a ball to go to when the lanes get brutal and the fronts burn up but as soon as I drilled it I had to throw it because it's a new ball and I'm curious. So I tried it out in practice and I was really strong even though they were fresh so I decided I would throw it in league and see what happens. First game out of the box I shot 300 with it and was pleased. I had to go to a bigger piece in the middle of game 2 because of carrydown and the ball was seeing alot of over/under but it showed me good things. I just recently bowled a state tourney in Delaware and I threw a slingshot for team but when we got to singles/doubles I needed a ball to clear the fronts and still peel off the spot so I grabbed my python and got deep and this ball was remarkable. As long as I made good shots this ball hit like a truck and there was nothing left standing. If your looking for a ball for a medium oil condition with good backends then you will not be unhappy choosing a python because you will really see what this ball can do.

Volume: LIGHT / Heavier once in a while.

COMMENTS

Likes:  I have been using the Python (15lbs) for about a year.  Started in mid league last winter and average went from 200 into the mid 2 teens (currently 214).  Ball is drilled with pin above and between ring and middle finger with weight hole.

This ball carries very well.  The color combination on this ball is awesome.  It looks good on the rack and going down the lanes. If I make good shots I get good results.  This is the 1st ball out of my bag at the start of the night.  Most nights I can use it for all three games unless the lanes really start to dry out. Overall I really love this ball.

Very under rated ball in my opinion. I don't have the style to throw 3000 rpms like some do and my ball speed is 13 to 14.  I rely on making good shots.

Dislikes: With the drilling I have it does better with some oil.  Does not like really dry lanes.
