OK,
The more I throw this ball, the more I like it. While I wouldn’t call this a “reviewâ€, it is more appropriate here than in a forum thread.
Anyway, this ball, for me, seems to be “THAT†ball. You know the one I mean. The one that, when you tug it a bit, it holds pocket and just blasts the rack, and when you pitch it a bit, it just smoothly reads the drier part WITHOUT instantly trying to stand up, and turns the corner. Once you get your feet correct, it gives me more miss room than anything else I’ve picked up in a long time.
Ball is drilled about 4 X 4, stacked with NO x-hole, pin drilled out in the ring finger. Had the shop put a good hard polish over the factory finish.
Clean through the fronts without being allergic to oil, reads the midlane in a really true and predictable motion, and comes off the breakpoint with a strong hook/snap/curve (a slurve?), and rolls true through the pindeck, many times splitting the 8-9 as it goes off the deck.
And, it actually does seem to be carrying things that I usually don’t. It’s not like it is startlingly different, but the pins just seem to be doing the right things and going the right directions to carry. An extra messenger now and then, an extra bounce off the side walls, a pin reaching out of the gutter to trip a corner pin out.
I haven’t had a ball in years that made me want to have a backup replacement in storage, but this one has. Just put the order in today.
