This hybrid asymmetrical ball is very clean through the heads with a continuous strong motion on the backend.  This ball has a very strong backend motion and is very predictable. I really like this ball and it has quickly become the first ball out of my bag.

The Ultimate Nirvana is a one of a kind.  This ball is amazing and very versatile.  The ultimate nirvana is cleaner than the original nirvana but more continuous on the backend.  My layout is used on medium to heavy volume and is clean and picks up the midlane a lil quicker and continues through the backend.  The Ultimate Nirvana is a great benchmark ball that can be used on a variety of lane conditions.

Reaction:  The Ultimate Nirvana is made with the new ECS (Enhanced Composite Segmentation) Hybrid Coverstock which is used for added length and pop on the backend.  For me this ball allows me to open my angles a lot more than the original Nirvana.  This ball is perfect for when the original Nirvana starts to hook early and you need more angle on the back part of the lane.  This is yet another ball from Brunswick that does not quit when it enters the pocket.  This ball goes through the front part of the lane very smoothly and reads the mid lane very well.  Once the ball makes the turn towards the pocket there is no quit in it.  It will continue to drive through the pins leaving no chance of any of them to stand.  Compared to the original Nirvana on a typical 41 foot 10:1 house shot this ball hooks about 2-3 boards more.  With the original Nirvana I have to play a little straighter so the ball doesn’t lose energy when entering the pocket.  With the new Ultimate Nirvana I can move left and let the ball go right and not worry about it losing any energy once it makes the move towards the pocket.
Overall:  This is a must have ball from Brunswick.  This is a benchmark ball to start every night with.  This will give you more overall pop than the original Nirvana and won’t quit on you at all.  This ball works best on medium to oily lanes but will still allow you to open the lane up even with the heavier oil.  Along with the new Vintage Danger Zone this is a great 1-2 combination to have in your bag.

Length:  41ft                        Volume: 23 units

Type (Sport Pattern):    Highway to Hell

Ball Speed:  17 mph   PAP: 5" and 3/4" up

Hand:  Left Tweener

Ball Layout:  70x4"x25

It is amazing how clean ball gets threw the heads.   The back end is phenomenal.  No loss of power on the back end.   Ball was exiting the deck in the 9 pin position.   My Nirvana is drilled the same way my ultimate Nirvana is.   When my Nirvana starts to check up early.  I can go to my Ultimate playing the same line with no fear of overreaction or not recovering.  The ball is a beast.   First day i threw this ball was in a Tournament this last weekend.   I shot 2195 Scratch for 9 games.  Including winning the doubles Championship.  This ball is a must for anybodies arsenal.  Brunswick has yet another winner.

The Ultimate Nirvana for me is longer and more angular on the back than the original Nirvana. I can play them from the same mark on the lane just with different reactions. The original Nirvana reads the midlane a lot quicker and has a strong move to the pocket where as the Ultimate Nirvana seems to get a few feet farther down the lane with a more angular move to the pocket. Once my Nirvana starts to hook early or lose energy I can go right to the Ultimate Nirvana. I can use my Ultimate Nirvana on a wider variety of lane conditions than my original Nirvana. Both are excellent balls.

The Brunswick Ultimate Nirvana bowling ball features the Nirvana Ultra Low RG core and surrounds it with the E.C.S. (Enhanced Composite Segmentation) Hybrid coverstock.

For this layout, I decided to go 45 x 5 x 30 with a WH on the P.A.P.  This layout has worked well for me with other hybrid balls (MM Genius, ReaxGusto) so I felt comfortable using it with this piece.

The reaction was smooth thru the fronts and rolled of the spot with authority and power.  The color combination is definitely eye catching and I have gotten lots of compliments.  The first series out was really good and even with 3 opens I bowled a respectable 714 series.  I you have never taken a look at the Brunswick brand you really should take a look.  You would be cheating yourself if you did not.

Brunswick Ultimate Nirvana
Bowler Stats:
Speed: 18-19mph
Rev Rate: 400-450mph
Axis Tilt: 7degrees
Axis Rotation: 30-60 degrees
Layout: 45 degrees by 5” by 50 degrees (small hole 1” down VAL)
Intent: My original Nirvana was a little strong in the earlier part of the lane than what’s usable for me on medium or medium-heavy patterns. I didn’t want to change the surface to keep for the really heavy stuff. The Ultimate Nirvana’s new hybrid cover is what I’m looking for in terms of a little more downlane push but similar shape.
On the lanes: The Ultimate Nirvana has shown to be a great compliment to the original with the similar shape I expected, but without the early read that the original could generate at times. With similar layout, I have my Ultimate being about 1-2 boards less than the original with that being due to the delayed read. With this extra length comes extra versatility.
Final Thoughts: The original Nirvana had tons of success from its strength throughout the whole lane. Bowlers will love the Ultimate Nirvana as a great compliment that will allow them to stay with a bigger ball for slightly longer, either to start out with or as a step down from the original Nirvana. I’d place this as a medium-heavy ball that can sneak its way into the heavy or medium ranges.

I laid out my Ultimate Nirvana with a 50X4.75X35 layout.  This put the pin just above the inside of my ring finger and the mass bias a few inches left of my thumb with a small P3 hole.  I am not usually a fan of this many colors swirled into a bowling ball as it reminds me of how I am old and how weak my release has become, but this one phases together nicely.  The major like I have with this ball compared to its predecessor is how much more defined the break point seems to be on this ball.  I love to see the ball stand up (again, showing my age).  For me this ball is really only a little cleaner than the original (both with box finish), but I get a good four boards stronger at the break point which really helps my carry when I play more towards the middle of the lane.  I will primarily use this ball to compliment my Mastermind Brainiac when it doesn’t quite hook enough, or when the original Nirvana doesn’t get the 10 out.

LANE CONDITION

Length: 40 ft.

Volume: 27 ml

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

COMMENTS

Layout with pin 4.5" from PAP and just below the fingers, X-hole at P4 position.   My initial impression was that I was surprised how easy the ball projected through the front half of lane.  This ball gets nearly the same length as most pearl reactives, but the difference is once it finds friction.  I find that it's a bit more forgiving if I miss outside (and the Ultimate somehow gets back to the pocket).

It's reaction is longer than the Nirvana and more angular, without being snappy late.  It's very easy to add surface to this one without losing that aggressive move off the friction.  I'm about 2 boards closer to friction with my feet vs. the Nirvana but handles more volume than the Brainiac, as an example.  This could easily be the first ball out of the bag on most house shots.  Very little deflection through the pin deck, so I leave more 9 pins than 10s, which can be a lifesaver when my spare game is on vacation for the night.  Thanks Brunswick!!

COMMENTS

Likes: Very clean through the front with strong backend motion

Dislikes: None

The Ultimate Nirvana is cleaner through the front part of the lane with a stronger motion down lane compared to the Nirvana. With the 4000 box surface, it still has enough surface to create traction in the oil because of the stronger ESC Hybrid coverstock. With the addition of the Hybrid coverstock to the lower RG Nirvana core, it will create more length through the fronts and more continuation downlane. I have used this ball on a house shot and it allowed me to play 15 to 5 to start, and I kept chasing it left as the lanes broke down (I had 265-228-290=783 in a 2nd shift league a week ago). I have also used it on sport shots which allows me to open up the lane and get a stronger motion down lane. With the pin under layout that I used, it allows me to have a smoother arcing type of motion with retention of energy to drive through the pins. If you are looking for a good ball to transition to when the Nirvana is starting to hook too much, the Ultimate Nirvana will do the job.

Here is a video of me throwing it:

I loved the original Nirvana so much that its always in my bag for every tournament.  But there were limitations I felt I had with the ball.  When I had to get in and open my angles up, I felt like I was only able to get so far in before the Original Nirvana began to struggle to get around the corner.  In comes the Ultimate Nirvana.  That problem is now solved.  This ball comes in great when my Nirvana begins to get tired.  This ball is more cleaner and more angular than the original nirvana.  I have yet to find its limitations with this ball on a burn block!
