Technology
Zone Classic features an inner core shape which is new, but familiar. Start with the classic Danger Zone shape, then stretch it laterally to create asymmetry. Keep stretching until you create a highly significant built in Preferential Spin Axis (PSA). Add the PSA locator pin and you have the new Zone Classic core, an Ultra Low RG design combining the proven image of Zone with Brunswick’s patented PSA core technology.

Next add Activator Coverstock, the same coverstock used on the original Inferno, clean through the fronts, great mid-lane recovery, hard arcing backend, unprecedented durability. Factory finished with High Gloss Polish, the purple pearlized coverstock complements the Ultra Low RG Core to deliver an aggressive but forgiving ball reaction that matches up on medium-dry to medium-oily lane conditions.

I got my zone classic about 3 months ago and i love it.i think this is one of the best balls ive ever owned.It works very well for me on most conditions.this ball has picked up my game lots.even though im only 14 my high series with this ball is 686 241 high game.It has helped me raise my average a  good 15 pins or so.i would recommened this ball to lots of people.

Simply put, this ball is sick. I got this ball not really knowing what I wanted it to be; I just knew that I'd seen/heard too many good things to pass it up. Anyhow, this ball is another outstanding addition to my arsenal. In comparison to my Absolute, the ZC goes about 5-6 feet longer and corners a lot harder, and with a snappier motion. This is my first attempt to use the rico drilling, and I must say that I'm very impressed. I can come around the side of the ball and play as deep as sixth arrow, and then move right, change hand positions, come up the back of the ball and play straight up between second and third on the same condition. Regardless of the line or hand position, this ball rolls strong and hits remarkably hard. In fact, this may be the hardest hitting Brunswick ball in my bag right now, and those are big words considering that I have an Ultimate and Absolute that throw pins like mad as well. In conclusion, this is just another flat out dangerous Brunswick ball. There was a long stretch when I was not high on Big B whatsoever. The Inferno line brought me back and the Zone Classic only helps that further. A great ball with great hit. I'm very impressed and I think you all will be too.

Ball specs, 15.4 with 4 inch pin.  Layout, pin above and right of ring finger, 4.5 inches to PAP. Mass bias next to thumb hole on strong side.  No extra hole.  

I left this ball in box condition and tried it on two different conditions.  First was a heavily walled 10 to 10 on newer anvil lane, the second was a flatter modified sport pattern on older anvil lane.  On both condition I was surprised by the very smooth roll.  The ball definitely gets length with a very angular late move, but the smooth roll belies that angularity.  On both conditions my carry was very good, although on the fresh flatter pattern I started having trouble getting to the hole after a bit of carrydown transition.  When I squared up, the back end move put me on the nose.  However, I got this ball to compliment my Absolute on more hooking conditions where I can't quite get the absolute to push.  I think it will perform very well from deeper inside on more broken down patterns.

This is a great houseshot ball on medium conditions. Clears font of lane nice  and snaps very strong. I have mine drilled with pin above bridge and psa right of thumb.  It works great for playing deep and when you want a skid/snap reaction.

Extra hole 6.5 inches from center of grip

In the beginning this ball just went long and did nothing. Even when it was dry. After breaking in the coverstock this ball started to be a little more angular on the backend. This is a great ball when the heads break down and the backends have carry down. You can really square up then.

I tried it on a 10 to 10 shot with 5 to 10 being open and 5 and out was OB.
I practically could stay between 5 and 10 for a long time. When i bowled on a 35 ft pattern which had flying backends this ball really snapped. It had great recovery.

I agree with Bob Hanson that it does compliment the Absolute Inferno.

Jonathan,

If you have the mass bias on the right side of your thumb, that would make it a lot stronger.  I had my originally on the left side of my thumb but after redrilling to be on the right side it was lot stronger on the backend.

15lb.4 3-4 Pin 3.7 top Red Pin
Drilled 5 1/2 to PAP MB 1 inch to right of tumb.
This ball is ver very smooth with this drilling and a good hard Arc at the end.
If u over crank it! it will die. It Hook Less than the Shahra ( 2 1/2 x 6 mb up 2). Great lenght with a very Nice Arc. For $60 shipped from bowlingball.com you can't go wrong with this one. Fits good between the XXXL and Blazing inferno. Where I bowl i never see oil I can't keep my Ravage on the Lanes.

my mate jonny bought one of these he bowls with loads of revs and had it drilled so it wasnt at its maximum hooking ability its immense he bowls right out to first arrow and the ball always comes back and hits the pocket i wondered if it was just the way he bowls that makes it hook so much so i had a go and got the same results he was getting awesome ball

Well hello everyone i am goin to post my review on this ball.

first im goin to start out telling you that i am a bowler with high revs and high speed.secondly i am goin to say this its the best ball i have ever had. i got this ball just before the start of the season about 9 weeks ago all i can say is wow how did they make this ball so perfect i mean i started out the season with a 155 avg and i bowled extrememely well(236,224,220) that was my first 650 i had bowled in my life. but anyways my avg had gone up to 226 right off the hop so it went down of course because that was the beginning of the season and i knew i couldnt hold it but i kept bowling 180's and 190's for the season so far and it is the perfect ball because i can contol it very well. with this ball on house conditions i shoot 9 out to 5 then into the pocket and it crushes everytime even when that line dries up i can move in and throw a larger shot and still have it come in becasue of the revolutions i can get on the ball i can put as many revs on the ball as humanly possible and still not have it burn up all i can say is if your looking for a great ball from brunswick this is it altho it doesnt beat an inferno its the next best thing

Gotta say, I have 2 red pin classics and love them both. I needed something to be able to control our over under reaction and to control the pocket. I have one drilled 4" pin to pap next ro ring finger PSA kicked out, EH on Axis. This ball rolls strong but smooth and doesn't overreact, which its not designed to do. The second Classic is drilled 5" pin to PAP with the pin under my ring finger and cg slighly kicked out. This ball is great when my other classic is a litlle squirty. I can straigten up and play down the boards and still get the great pin carry of the brunswick Zone cores. These balls are good if you have slow ball speed and need something you can control. I avg. about 15-16 MPH and have avg. revs. It seems like all the zones carry great for me.

Drilled this ball with pin above ring finger and kicked CG out.

Box finish

I drilled this up for skid/snap to combat dried up heads.

The ball is very predictable and what else can you say about the Activator coverstock ... it is the best you can get.

This ball is exactly what i want for this condition nice reaction on the backend with a nice snap if it isnt a dry or very light oil shot, this ball should not come out until 3rd game

shot a 508 at a place I average 152 at

First try I had was a 16lb'er. Great hit and backend, but cant throw 16 anymore and could not get a consistent reaction. Sold it. Tried a 15lb version of the Red Pin. Ball went straight most of the time, or did not hit to my liking (flat corners), sold it. Tried a 15 in a green pin and we have a winner.

Drilled with the intention of having a ball with big backend (more so than my rampage) layed it out this way do that the ball gets down lane and saves all energy for the last 15 feet. Core/cover combo with this drilling for me is perfect. Ball clears the heads beautifully, gets into a roll down lane and jumps hard on the backend, very flippy and continues through the pins (doesnt flip and stop once it makes contact with the head pin). First night out with it was able to get inside 3rd arrow (16-17 board) out to about 8 at the breakpoint (compared to a 12-7 bump with a Rampage). Ball hit the spot and turned hard, almost looked as if the ball gained speed once it turned right. Carry first night out was outstanding. Used the next weekend in a tournament and ended up playing 5th arrow trying to get it out to the gutter (followed 5 lefties all using dull equipment all over the left side). Found a good shot deep inside and ball was still able to hit from there. Used it since and have had great success when the backends are fresh I can really get backend movement and carry.
 Overall this ball is the reason why the Zone line has been so successful for 10+ years. Activator coverstock is simply amazing and the Danger Zone Core (Asym version) allows so many different options for drilling. Glad to see the Zone line back and looking forward to more of the same. Thank you again Brunswick.

I recently bought a zone classic (red pin) last week. bought it in hopes to conquer the medium dry conditions. threw this ball in a fresh house condition for my junior league and this ball moved great but couldnt flip hard enough to carry the corner pins. first game with this ball i left the 7 pin (lefty) nearly everytime and decided to bag it that day. next day played on a short oil sport pattern and wow! this ball was amazing! I could throw the ball from 16 to 2 and get great carry. unfortunately by game 3 carrydown was killing me and i left a 7-10 4 times that game. well overall this ball is great when theres enough dry boards out there for it to move. hopefully i can find a green pin and try that on a medium oily condition.
