Help with layouts and future purchases
« on: February 15, 2006, 02:00:45 AM »
Hello everyone.  I have come to ask advice from the Brunswick gurus since I will soon be throwing mainly (and most likely only) Brunswick.

I used to throw a D2Z, Control Zone and Riot Zone, all of which I loved.  However, in my quest to throw 700 balls in one year, I of course got rid of all of them a couple years back.  Out of all of them, I got the best look with the Control Zone, and I was lucky enough to pick up another one which I am going to drill soon.

I have a NIB Control Zone (2-3" pin) and NIB Monster Bruiser (2-3" pin, 3oz TW) that I am going to drill most likely this week.  I was wondering what layouts are suggested for these, and what surface changes, if any, need to be made.  I throw around 16mph (per Qubica), manly man revs when needed, definitely a cranker, PAP is 5 1/4" over and 1/2" - 3/4" up.  That may not be exact, but it's as close as I could get with using a spare ball and a tailor's measuring tape.  I love the movement of Brunswick stuff (strong arcing instead of long skid/snap like the Storm stuff I have been throwing lately).

Also I am hoping to purchase another ball or two in the near future to fill huge holes in my arsenal after the Storm stuff disappears (I am keeping the Flash Force, but that is all).  I threw a Goliath for a short period last year and got a great look from it on fresh lanes, but it was time to put it up towards the end of the first game or shortly into the second game.

I have an opportunity to pick up a used Original Inferno and a NIB Command Zone (if they are still available when I get my bonus check).  I have read good things about the Command Zone, but I don't know how close it will be to the Control Zone or Bruiser.

So, I guess after the long story, I am just wanting some input as to what to get to go with the Control Zone and Bruiser and what layouts to throw on all of them.

Thanks for your help in advance!
