2 colors in Absolute?
« on: March 15, 2005, 12:18:04 PM »
Am I correct that there are two colors in the Absolute, you go to bowling.com and it's a maroonish color, really nice, and then you go everywhere else it's a blue color?  Is this how it really is, cuz in life all I've seen is maroon...Thanks, Jeff

http://www.blockbusterbowling.com/catalog/CatalogMgr.pl?cartID=b-4130&SearchField=category&SearchFor=BRballs&template=Htx/deptballs.htx&hdr=Brunswick%20Balls&displayNumber=10 second one down. Thats the real color. (thats a real picture) Actually in that picture it looks like a triple x factor.

The AI is supposed to be blue pearl as a base, with a blotch of orange red pearl - much like the OI when looking at the colour pattern. But the blue is rather blue-grey (ashes?) or violet-grey and cloudy. nice contrast and distinguishable on the lanes.
I have seen a testing ball on the lanes around here before its official release played by a Brunswick staffer, and the colours look nice. Personally, I'd prefer this one to the OI.

But the green engraving is awful. IMHO, this choice does not fit Brunswick's style, and it is a mess with the ball's base colours. Makes it look like a moonshine bowler release of the OI, or an Inferno polyester.

I have seen a few without much of the orange/red splotch and if and when I drill one that's what I will want-one without!  Looks much better that way!

I think the one on Bowling.com is amazing...  If and when I get one I would love for it to look like that, but I'm sure it won't.

They are ugly as hell... They hook/snap like a mofo though! The green engraving is terrible.

Mine has quite a bit of blue in it.  I would like to see a solid ball with just the blue color.

Hi Andrew,

your AI looks funny - it is the strongest blue I have seen on this ball so far, and it has the strongest mix of colors! The orange rather looks like sparkles than a blotch.

I think the AI is the same as the OI: the idea of the color mix is good, but the execution on every ball is so difficult and has so many strong differences, that it is difficult to find one that matches personal taste and does not look like a production failure...?

Hope Big B gets hold on this, especially when you see a nice ball in the catalogue or online, and the one you get or see at the pro shop apperas to be a completely different ball.
