Intense Inferno
« on: December 10, 2006, 04:38:39 AM »
I have this ball with the factory finish on it but i want to know if it would be good to polish, dull or sand it and use the rough buff finish to get the ball to have a sharper break point and go a tad bit longer.

Please respnd.

You have to have balls to bowl the way I do.

Stock finish is 400 grit plus Brunswick's High Gloss polish. With it and with similar Brunswick pearls, to get more length in order to enable it to be used on less oil, I have sanded them to 800 grit and then applied High Gloss polish. If necessary, you can sand it finer and then polish, but small steps are usually used to "test the waters". (Did this with and Intense, a Slay/R and a Red/BlackMonster, all worked as expected.)

You can sand it even finer and then use the polish. Reminder: their polish has no grit in it; so the underlying base is technically not changed.

You can always use Rough Buff but it does have abrasive in it to smooth the sanded finish, but the result is finer and the ball thenhas a smooth NOT polished finish. It will roll earlier that the same ball polished with their polish.
