Surface changes to Siege
« on: November 23, 2009, 11:43:56 AM »
Just wondering if anyone has done any surface changes to their Siege and how it worked for them.  Mine is still OOB and I was thinking of going down to 2000 or 1000...  At 4000, it doesn't seem to make the corner enough until the lanes break down quite a bit for me.

Any replies are appreciated, thanks.

Mine was waaaaaaaaaay to dull from the factory. I liked it much better at 4000.

For me 2000 began to react to soon in the midlane but thats given my current center has 40 year old wood lanes with a track burned in so bad.  I felt that 4000 allowed me to play straighter but still gave me that strong continuation through the pins and it was very consistent for me.  It had a nice shine to it after working it with the 4000 pad.

Mine is at 4000, no polish, looks polished, and performs better on wetter house shots in this surface. This ball would have to stay in the bag, otherwise. I like it at 4000.

As you can tell from the responses, everyone finds a finish that makes the ball look best for them. The Siege takes surface changes very well and holds up longer than many "oil" balls on the market. Just work with the surface until it has that reaction you're looking for.
