809 with Fury
« on: April 13, 2007, 01:07:27 PM »
New Fury, second 800 this season, and the second of my "career."  289-266-254.  Front 10 first game, 10 pin.  Front 7 second game, 10 pin, missed it, next three, 9 count.  Front 5 last game, 10 pin, 10 pin, dropped it for a 2-4-7-8, spared it, got the next 4.  Had it drilled during league Wednesday night, and shot 255 with it the last game, so 1064 for my first 4 league games isn't half bad.  Totally different house from Wednesday nights.  Old resurfaced wood, 40 feet, medium-heavy up front, flying backends.  I was afraid it would read early because of the softer lane surface, seeing as how my Radical hooks much more at this house than anywhere else in town, but it didn't.  I also thought it might hook/stop on the backends because of the drastic move, but it didn't.  I wouldn't say it's smooth of the dry, or snappy off the dry, it's very clean off the dry.  Clean through the front part of the lane, then when it revs up and moves, it keeps going.  Excellent continuation, excellent midlane and backend read, and it keeps the pins low.  Again, not the type of ball that gives you the impression of hitting like a truck, just a very strong ball with continuation that really leaves the pins no chance.  I was playing less hook than I normally do, between 2nd and 3rd arrow playing a nice and easy swing shot out to about 7.  It's the most relaxed with a ball I've been in a while since my Red Zone days earlier in the year.  This thing is flat stupid . . really.  It's good on short dry patterns, good on medium-medium patterns, and I'll try it on oil Monday night and see what happens, and matter of fact, I think it'll perform the best there . .

Great bowling!  This ball's versatility is amazing.  I've got one that's a very strong layout that I leave quite dull, and another that's drilled weaker that I leave shiny.  Awesome ball if surface is adjusted properly to match the bowler's strengths.
