Blue Phantom Drill Patterns???
« on: July 07, 2007, 12:09:17 PM »
Just recently came into a brand new Blue Phantom, but unfortunately I don't have the drilling sheet.  I know there was a special way you had to drill these, but I don't know how.  I know it's a pretty old ball, but if anyone out there can remember the rules on laying these things out, I would appreciate it very much.

Thank You

Use the new Blast Zone dril patterns because it's the same weight block.

Phantoms had the PSA above the pin if I remember correctly.

Yeah, that is what is throwing me off.  It has the old Brunswick label, but the PSA is straight to the right of the label instead of being straight down from the label like most of the stuff that is out today.

Do not use the new Blast Zone patterns it is a modified version of that core yes but the patterns are not the same.  I don't know what the old patterns were, its been a long time since I saw them and wasn't really into drilling.  You may want to find the old patterns even though drilling theory has evolved.

I do remember there was also a special tool that was put on the a quarter scale.  I also don't know if it was necessary but it was sold with the phantom logo on it.

The locator pin is 6 3/4 from the pin in the ball.  Complete a triangle using 6 3/4 from the pin and locator pin to create the true mass bias.

                 Pin

           6 3/4     6 3/4

Mass Bias - X   6 3/4   0 - Locator Pin

I hope this helps.
