Fortera Intrigue and Melee Jab Ball Review
« on: December 11, 2014, 01:51:56 PM »
The most common thing I hear when I ask people why they don't use Brunswick bowling balls is that they "hook early".  Most of these people haven't tried our products for many years.  Our product line from top to bottom is as good as if not better then any company out there.  I recently drilled 2 of our newest additions.  If you think either of these balls hook too early then you might need an eye doctor more than a new bowling ball.

Fortera Intrigue - I have this ball just as clean through the front of the lane as the Exile, it picks up a little sooner and is a little smoother off of the end of the pattern.  For me, I put 1000 grit on this ball to get it into a roll earlier, and use it before the Exile.  I can start with one of my Mastermind balls, go to the Intrigue when they become too much ball, and eventually transition into the Exile.  This ball is fantastic and should match up well for everyone on a variety of conditions.

Melee Jab - This ball is going play a big role in your arsenal.  We have been missing a strong pearlized symmetrical bowling ball and this one is a home run!  This ball is incredibly clean through the front and middle part of the lane and is all back end hook.  This is a fantastic compliment to the Melee Cross, a little further down the lane and quite a bit more continuation.  This ball will be a great option for you once the lanes start to dry up, medium to dry lane conditions are when this ball will shine.

If you like throwing strikes try a Brunswick ball!

Stigma's usually stick around long after something has been addressed. I agree that Brunswick puts out amazing equipment but some people are too stuck on the past to try something new, especially when money is involved.

But the balls they have been putting out are great. I haven't purchased any recently because I am out trying equipment from other companies to see how I like it. But this summer, I plan on getting another Brunswick ball! Probably from the Fortera side ;D

Personally, I feel my kind of game is better suited with Brunswick/Radical equipment. I have no complaints.
Ball speed avg. (18.25 mph)
Rev rate avg. (400-428 rpm)

I haven't tried Radical yet but I know Brunswick goes with my style extremely well. I've shot my highest games/series with Brunswick equipment. I've just always had that what if I tried this or that feeling so I decided that I'd try other brands and see how I fare.
