In box condition, it is an oil ball. Smooth and predictable. Handles carry down as long as you have enough heads to let it clear the first part of the lane.
For me, it ýs an excellent step down from box Ultimate. If your dull Ultimate checks up too early and loose energy, Impulse is your second choice.
With the same drillings both on Absolute and Impulse, Impulse is still touch earlier. It reads the midlane better and needs more head oil.. Absolute is touch longer and has more continues backend. Not enough difference for my taste to keep both in the bag. Lower and stronger pin placement makes Absolute too condition specific for me.. I have Impulse and Ultimate for oil
My Impulse is drilled 3-1/2 X MB Strong, Weight Hole off the PAP, box condition
I have one Absolute drilled box, 4-1/2 X 4, no hole. With this set up, my Absolute is about 2 feet longer and a lot sharper. Handles same amount of oil with a different shape.
In my opinion, Impulse is a great choice for heavier sports conditions. Predictable and hard arc to the pocket. Generally it is best for straighter angles rather than opening up the lane. Responds up-the-back release very good.
I would stay away pin below drillings if you do not have enough hand or speed unless you play on flood..
Hope this helps,
Burak
