A Sad Sad Day for Brunswick in my house :-(
« on: December 06, 2014, 12:04:03 AM »
Due to work and rehabbing a broken right hand I haven't thrown a bowling ball since April.  I still get my ball-whore on from time to time and I've been sitting on a pile of new and used equipment in my closet.  I was shuffling around some things and one of my favorite Balls of all time (all companies, not just the big B) I pulled out of the box in my closet

 my first reaction was:

Then after it sunk in, "Where the hell am I going to find another one of these NIB?"

My reaction went to this:

For my slower speed, rev dominate style this ball was money for me from anywhere on the lane on a THS and great on flatter patterns because it stays on line so well to the breakpoint and was super continuous.  I'm eyeballing a February return to practice (With a 12-13lb ball until I can make it back to 15 by summer hopefully), so what would be close in the Brunswick line to the C-System 4.5?  The Brute maybe?  The contradiction on paper of a low RG/low diff pearl vs a high RG/high diff pearl has me confused on what to replace this with.

I have plenty of time to scour eBay in the next few months, but from anyone who has thrown the C-System 4.5, what have you found that was close?

I had a 4.5, I loved the reaction...just didn't carry...but man I loved it.  Mine was super clean and just made a nice crisp move, that's it.  :)

Thanks for the condolences everyone.

It's been a long night reflecting on all of the stone 9 pins I was about to leave with this ball before a mean bird-dog came off of the left wall to snap it out late.

Yes, the Brute would have a similar reaction to the C-System 4.5, but will have a stronger motion down lane.  A better choice would be a Platinum Ringer which would have a similar motion to the C-System 4.5.

I would look at an Exile. Both would be asymmetric, down lane pearls. I'm sure there are still 4.5s left out there if you look hard enough
